Autopiaforums VS AG

AG is a busy place for sure, but to me anyway, this is alot closer knit community with some of the best detailers the world has to offer and most of them are more than willing to offer expert advise to those seeking help. While AG may be a busier forum, that doesn't always mean it's better than here or any other forum. Just means there's more people who can't use the search button..

AG has working on building traffic a lot longer than the new owners of AF. It takes time.

Back to your original question...AGO is first and foremost a marketing tool for Autogeek, not that it doesn't have other missions. But a major stated goal in the reboot of this forum (and one of the reasons I joined) is to be a completely open forum where any product can be discussed (and presumably dissenting opinions). That perhaps makes for less "flavor of the month" and less traffic here.

So from what you are saying is that on AF you can discuss any of the detailing products out there.

Does this include competitive products the AG does not endorse or sell?

E.G.
Adams Car Care
Blackfire Car Care
Glare Pro Polish
Zaino Products
etc.?

Yep. You just can't discuss them on AG. They've been cracking down on it.

Yep. Feel free to discuss any product line you want.

It has been my experience that this forum has long been a venue for openly discussing a wide range of products, including those not marketed through one of the PBMA (or Detail City store before that) outlets (though they have a wide variety of product lines covered :)). You can check the forum rules and you'll find no mention of restricting open discussions. The obvious exceptions would be shilling/spamming etc.;)

This forum about as open as it gets. At one time there was kind of an unwritten Henry Ford type of attitude among several of the members (you can discuss any product you want as long as it's Poorboy's) but it's never been officially enforced as such, instead it has typically been a free-for-all.

That being said. I just posted a little review of a product I have used.

...
Feedback appreciated. Can you include links? What can you do and not do on AF?

You'll find those rules spelled out here http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/forum-news-updates-feedback/30449-autopia-forum-rules.html

I wonder what the real grand plan is for AF.

I see Unotopia is morphing as well with Dave Fermani as the marketing director, sponsors like the IDA, and the reach out to the numerous previously banned members.

I had not been over to see these new "events" but reading through the posts certainly gave me my afternoon chuckle.

JMO, since I don't drive this train, but there are certain business templates that are worth using but countless more that are not. I do find the "marketing director" move curiously familiar. And didn't we just discuss the "famous" concept/label?
