2015 Jet Black Porsche Cayenne

This vehicle originally came in the shop for our new car preparation detail but soon after inspection we decided that a much more in depth approach was needed. This jet black paint had seen one too many automatic car washes in it's first few weeks. We agreed upon doing a single stage correction to enhance the finish as much as possible while staying within budget.

Process:

[Vehicle inspection
Wheels cleaned with Sonax Full Effect Plus & various brushes
Tires and wheel wells cleaned with Sonax Multi-Star APC at 10-1
Lower panels pretreated with Sonax Multi-Star APC
Vehicle foamed down with Dawn + Chemical Guys Citrus Wash
2 X 2 wash method
Engine/door jams and grills cleaned with Sonax Multi-Star APC
CarPro IronX treatment followed by clay decontamination
CarPro Spotless water spot remover treatment followed by final rinse
Dried with Master Blaster Revolution and waffle weave drying towels
Tires cleaned with Tarminator for a crisp matte finish
Rubber trim masked off and paint readings taken
Polishing process with Meguiars M205 paired with a 5.5 inch Meguiars Microfiber Finishing Disc on the Rupes 21LHR & Rupes Mini
Slight haze finished down with base layer of Sonax Hybrid Paint Cleaner
Paint, wheels, trim and glass topped with Sonax Polymer Net Shield Spray Sealant
Exhaust tips polished
Interior Glass cleaned
Final Inspection

The final results look amazing!

I'm surprised that you used Dawn as part of the wash when foaming down the car. I thought using Dawn on paint was a big NO NO!

James great work. Hoping to get down to the open house on the 26th. I'll bring ya a coffee milk!

Very nice. I don't see the Dawn as a bad thing to use when doing a complete correction. Using Dawn every wash would probably too harsh and have the potential to strip your LSP. But if you are going to correct and polish your car go ahead and use Dawn, just don't overdo it. You will need to rinse your car thoroughly to remove all of the soap residue.

Very nice work and documentation. M205 paired with a MF pad is a killer combo. Hope the owner keeps it looking good!
