Auto Magic Magic Mist

I decided to try out this new quick detailer from Auto Magic. I have used their Body Shine in the past and was pretty happy with it. Body Shine is a good general purpose qd that usually comes with their blue clay bar.

I picked up of their new carnuaba based qd called "Magic Mist". I have been looking to use a carnuaba based QD on my show car but didn't really want to pay $20.00 for the Pinnacle Mist.

I must say the Magic Mist works really good and I am quite impressed with it. It leaves the surface super slick and has a great shine.

For $4.95 a bottle you can't beat it. I bought it from Sparkle Auto and they even through in a free MF towel.

Thanks Pat! :up I asked about this product earlier, but didn't get much feedback. I might get some next week, but the price isn't nearly as good... :(

BTW, this stuff is really cheap per gallon at Sparkle Auto - only $16.54 USD!

Well I finally got some Magic Mist today and tried it out, using it to QD my whole car. :)

It's a yellow, slightly milky liquid and sprays on in a pretty fine mist. It spreads and wipes off quite easily (considering the dropping temperature), leaving little or no streaking that I could see. I can't judge relative shine very well, but the car did look good and it left the surface feeling nice and slick. It says "not intended for use on glass" but any overspray I got on glass or plastic was not a problem.

Another good thing I'd like to mention is its smell. It smells pleasantly of a slightly sweet cross between banana and bubble gum, and the best thing is the scent is very light. Some may argue that they cheaped out on fragrance, but I see this as a good thing because while EO or Meguiar's or Mothers' QD may smell nice at first, they are all pretty strongly scented and it soon gets tiring (and makes your hands funky smelling too!). I have a few towels that still faintly waft of EO Wipe & Shine even after washing.

I bought it for $13 + tax for 16oz (473mL), so the price is not as dirt cheap as I can get the Eagle One QD for, but it's not much higher than other QDs either. I originally bought it as a QD to help extend my wax life over the winter, but it seems to be a very good QD in all respects. Overall I like this product and will probably get more when I run out. Distrubution in Canada makes it a good option for people up here who want to buy a carnauba-based QD but don't want to get it shipped from the US. :xyxthumbs

The only thing I regret is not being able to compare it to other similar QDs like EFCP or OGSO.

4DSC..WOW...you paid alot more than I paid. I got it for $4.95 a bottle (16 oz.) at Sparkle Auto

The shipping was like $5.95 and after messing around with the shipping I found it was the same for 1-3 bottles. I ended up getting 3 bottles for $20 and they even through in a free MF towel with it. Not the best towel but good enough for windows.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me...

Well it's not the cheapest QD, but $13 is in Canadian funds, so that's about $8.30 US. It's "okay" and, unless I want more than one or a gallon (GREAT deal on the gallon btw), better than having it shipped. No free MF though, which was very nice of Sparkle Auto.

It could be worse - before they got any in for me to buy I was guestimated $17 a bottle!

I just hope that the big price difference between this and other carnauba QDs doesn't translate into less wax though.... I wonder how much wax is in these QDs anyway? :nixweiss It can't be more than say 5%.

I really like the stuff as well. Smells great and leaves the surface very smooth. Plus no streaking !!!!!

Geez, this is an OLD thread.

Same prices through Sparkle Auto still.

You still use this stuff, Pat?

Jesus..talk about bringing back a dead thread lololo... I use it every once in a while. I still have 3 bottles that I purchased back in 2002...Talk about product overload :nervous2:

I doubt I would ever purchase it again. There are so many better QD's out there...All in all its not bad for the money.
