Just One More Coat
Last night while watching TV they had a special on auto actions, that caught my eye.

I had a look at the web site that they listed and it seems like an as is thing cash on the barrel..This place only requires valid driver license , 16 years old and have a minimal amount of cash on hand or credit card.

Anywho anyone here been to any of these?

I think it would be cool just to show up and see what they have and how it works.

The inventory shows some decent rides!

Welcome To AutoReturn!

Oh, these are Abandoned and Unclaimed Vehicles that have been towed in.

Those cars are something you'd almost have to see in person to evaluate the appearance, and I'm not sure how you'd check out the mechanical condition. Wouldn't it be safe to assume that these Abandoned and Unclaimed Vehicles are not going to have keys?

I guess the potential to find something decent could be there, but with them all sold "as is", then the potential for a blown engine or tranny is also there. But hey, admission is free and it might be something that you'd enjoy going to. I do think there will be dealers and "backyard dealers" there trying to scoop up anything they can easily flip.

The total fees (~ $240.00 towing fee, $50 a day storage fee, other misc fees, and if there are 5 or more outstanding, deliquent citations (in the penalty stage) they must be paid in full, including any late penalties) could add up quick enough that a person on limited income would not be able to get their car back.

From what I had seen on the TV these are impounds from parking tickets, illegal parking, etc...some abandoned...and such..as for how much you can see of the car before the sale I don't know...if I can get the time one Wednesday AM was thinking about headed down to see how it works.

I'd be curious about how well you're able to check out the cars and if they have keys...... I can't imagine they would if they've been towed in. I guess if you bought one you'd either have to tow it off or with your new title and VIN get keys made for it?

Did you mean Auto Auctions? I read the title thread and thought for sure we were going to be talking about guns. :D
