A friend of mine just got an Audi A6. It has 4 doors, silver paint and black leather. It is a very nice car. Overall the paint looks very good for being a 2001. Is there anything special we should note in keeping it detailed. We live in Florida and it will be on the highway often. He is not as addicted to keeping things up as much as I am so my recommendations were:



1. Klasse AIO

2. Pinnacle Leather Conditioner



I did push Wolf Gang, but it is two steps off the bat and I think Klasse AIO is more his style and might work better with his paint.



Also are there any known things he should look out for like a bearing going at 53K or he should make sure he keeps his do da in line each year.
 
If he is demanding a one-step, why don't you suggest Meg's #20? Very durable and contains cleaners so it could work as a one-step if needed (with proper cleaning, of course). I use the stuff on my wheels, so if it can handle brake dust it is "one-step" enough in my book.
 
I have used both AIO and 1Z Metallic polish, and I think 1Z works better for me. It seems to leave an acceptable layer of protection, and I am happy with the look on my 2 black cars.



AIO is a fine product, but as a stand alone, I like Metallic better.



Just my experience, for what its worth.
 
Does it offer as much protection. I would say he might hit it with a wax every 4-6 months....



I use wax to describe polish, seal, ect...
 
Mr. Clean 2K- Hope your friend doesn't let the Audi get all marred up, that clear is a pain to polish out.



I too would go with the 1Z MP over the AIO. Besides not being wild about how K looks on Audi silver, the AIO will NOT provide any real, long-term protection. The MP will provide more, though not as much as the Meg's #20. Still, I'd choose the 1Z. Its light polish won't do much for marring on Audis, but it's very user-friendly. It looks VERY nice on Audi silver.



Any chance you could get him to put a topper on it from time to time? I got our friends to use Meg's #16 on their silver A6 every other month or so, and it's working well for them. They use something with mild abrasives (Meg's #80) infrequently, and then just put the #16 on when they notice the beading going away. Using the MP and #16 this way should be pretty easy and would work well.
 
I use 1Z PP and Metallic, typically topped with Glanz Wax, sometimes with nothing, sometimes with something else. ALWAYS looks great after I apply the Metallic. My A8 is black and is a 97 with 88K highway miles. Still shines like a son of a gun. Only issue is the high cost of German car maintenance.
