attracting dust

What makes dust attract to painted surfaces after using a sealant or a wax? Is it because you're building up static electricity from applying/removing the product?

I just had this happen and was quite shocked. I do think that some sealants and some MF prodcuts, when used together cause static electricity. I had Wolfgang, which is a very good sealant, attract a lot of dust. After you wash it it the first time it should go away. Also many QD will help avoid any dust problems. I didn't use Wolf's QD, maybe that would have made a difference.

You have to wonder if the dust problems have anything to do with polishing and waxing on an extremely dry day, when the relative humidity is low.
