Hi friends,

We are planning an Autopia Meeting in Atlanta Georgia given that weather is getting great again here in the South. We are in the planning stages but hope to get some sponsors and meet at a good location.

Here is a list of areas we are working on:

1. Vendor Participation - we thought it may be good to see if any manufacturers or vendors want to contribute some free samples to raise brand awareness andd to make the event extra fun. May be nice to have some folks like Nick Carberry from Adams Detailing and perhaps the detail manager from local PBE AutoColor. May see about having a raffle for a prize or two...

2. Detailing Tips - we would like to have some experienced detailers share some tips that they have picked up over the years. I have some people in mind...please PM me if you are interested.

3. Social Time - definitely want to emphasize just meeting and hanging out with people who love their cars. Maybe we can visit a local Starbuck or bar afterward for less formal discussion.

4. Date and Location - Thinking about last weekend or two in March and scouting locations, let me know here if you have suggestions. A good number of us seem to be in North Atlanta so a place on the north side of 285 may be most convenient.

5. Attendance- Anyway, let me know in this thread if you plan on coming so we can plan for the right number of people.

Look forward to seeing the local Autopians! :wavey

I'll volunteer my car to be the subject of detailing!

I have some over spray from recent body work AND probably need the side wet sanded and polished.

Plus some swirls and such...

Folks would get to see just about everything at once!

It's a '04 Scion xB - so at least the body panels are flat!

Kevin, thanks we may use your car.

Greg, come visit anyway...the traffic is bearable if we don't have it in town. Weekend traffic is not so bad anyway.

Lee,

I don't know, we'll see. Doubt my parents would let me go to Atlanta all by my lonesome anyway. Heck, it is a big enough battle with my mom for me to drive to Beaufort. LOL

I live in Asheville NC but I would think about coming if it was in north Atlanta. It would have to be near someplace to stay, and eat. As big as Atlanta is getting anymore anyplace like Beuford, or Lawrenceville would be nice, or somewhere on north 400, just thinking outloud. Ofcourse that makes it futher for people coming from the south. Soooooooo. I'll be watching for location and time.

Thanks

Mark

I have an idea for location now. The Wills Park Equestrian Center may be perfect for us. Nice beautiful facility with a wonderful covered area next to the parking lot.

One major vendor asked about a garage and I think this would work. It is covered in case it rains (high ceilings, one side wall) and has electrical outlets for buffer/produc demonstrations).

It is also conveniently located to our premiere exoticar palace Ferrari Atlanta (also an Aston Martin and Maserati dealer) and just 10 minutes from a brand new Porsche dealer. Field trip anyone?

This is close to the Haynes Bridge exit on Ga. 400 for Mark in Asheville as well.

Yeah, count me in I can get down from Chattanooga in a couple hours, I can bring any Meg's products you want and have a couple Meg's Banners I can give away and can probably get some t-shirts.

Excellent. I am looking forward to this.

AutoNova, the Megs stuff may work but I need to check in with other vendors and make sure if people are cool with other vendors. We may try to have a separate Megs day.

I will look for someone with wet sanding/paint chip experience. That would be very informative.

I would definitely attend this event. Looking forward to it! I'll have to find time to get that car of mine polished up again before the event though. Ha.
