Two places for Group insurance you might want to check out are the American Small Businesses Association and National Business Association. They are both organizations for small business owners and provide benefits by buying as a group. I've never used them, but they've both been around for a long time.

For dental work, if you have a local dental school or college close by I highly recommend going there for services. They do high quality work at 1/4-1/3 the price of a regular dentist, and all work is double-checked by a supervisor. I had a great experience the last time I went. The dentist was one of the most gentle & painless I've ever been to and had a couple thousand $ worth of work done for a fraction of the cost. Oh and the dentist was an attractive young lady with a great personality, so I got to sit mesmerized in the chair while getting fixed up!

I love the part about the attractive young lady !!! I’m off to dental school LOL........

Thanks Kpounds

Bro, its very sick. I actually still think of her alot! Girl had it all; ability, looks, personality, and was about 27 when I met her so she wasn't a young tart or something. She's married now and a practicing orthodontist. Ah...anyway the dental schools are great. Its good to keep up on your teeth, you really feel much better overall.

Shop around, you may be able to get a better deal.

Of course, I have never actually used my insurance so I can't vouch for how well they actually respond to claims yet.

Yes, it is true, you may get a better deal that costs you a lot less money.

The problem is when you go to use your insurance; not all physicians and other medical facilities always accept the plans offered by low cost insurance companies. In other words, the doctors have a hard time collecting on claims from some insurance companies; therefore they refuse to accept those companies. Not all health insurance company are equal.

what are you long term business owners doing about it? Is it covered under your insurance, so you have health insurance and all the good things that you would get if you worked an desk 9-5? What kind of packages do you have? how do you get compensated for not being able to detail on a friday because the pain is too much from the 6 details earlier in the week? is it even possible to get "sick pay" if you own your own business like this one? what about workmans comp?

I havent made this detailing my sole source of income at this point, but I plan on it in about a year or so. I just want to know some things ahead of time....thanks

I would talk to an insurance agent and get some quotes. You can get workmans comp but your premiums would go through the roof trust me it happened to my uncle when he screwed up his shoulder and had to have surgery. He also was a small business owner. I emailed him to ask him what he did and he like I got disability insurance. I have failed back surgery syndrome. I will be in chronic pain the rest of my life so before I had the surgery I went and purchased disability ins. as a "just incase" and it payed off. My premiums would of been tripled. So say I become disabled I will collect a check evey two weeks or month. Even if I get social security disabiltiy. I would seriously look into it.

I hope you stay healthy. Stay active it will help. It helps me.

Get a "stability ball" for $15 at walmart and use it. I purchased the GoFit Core Performance Workout DVD also. I took the book to my dr and disgust it with him and he showed me the owns to do and the owns to stay away from but if you haven't had surgery do all of them. i know a dozen of people that healed herinated disc from it. Also, it will keep ur joints healthy and moving and which will help ur arthritis. I had two of my disc remove in my back and live in really bad chronic pain every minute of my life. I have tried everything and I mean everything. I have seen 5 neurosurgeons (2 of the top 3 in the country), pain mgmt., countless physical therapy sessions, and of course the devil himself chiropractor. Excersizing is so important and controling your pain, because if you don't you'll get depressed and you'll be in more pain.

What I do is when I'm detailing is not push myself. You know ur body better then anybody. Take breaks, set a nice pace. Don't jerk ur body around, move slowly. Where nice Mechanix gloves and some neoprene wrist brace. Don't where a back brace. You want to keep your back strong. back braces will weaken your back. Keep good posture also when detailing. Don't bend for long periods of time. If have to bend at the knees and have something supporting you while ur bending like a self made item. I had somethings made by a great friend.

Telling you guy. If you excersize and take preventive measures you can slow down your problems and help control your pain. Guy, I'm 27 years old and i have to deal with this everyday. If you have any questions PM me!
