are there any dangers in using a steam cleaner on alloy wheels?

Never used one before, thinking of getting one.



Should I go for no less than 50 psi/3.5 bar or will any one do?



I presume steam cleaning would strip wheel wax, but I'm concerned about heat damage or inadvertantly causing damage round rim of wheel near kerbing marks, or do I not need to woory?



Any views appreciated. Cam
 
I'm certainly no expert on them, but it seems like they should be OK to use on wheels if folks are using them safely on interior plastics, fabric, and carpeting. My $0.02
