Aquawax vs. OCW and Speed Demon?

I have been using AquaWax but am always wanting to try new products. How would you say it compares to Optimum Car Wax and Surf City Garage Speed Demon?

I am curious about:

1) Longevity of true protection

2) Looks and feel (slickness, shine, etc).

I also have never tried FK1 425 or Surf City Hot Rod. I realize they don't offer the protection that the spray waxes do, but am wondering if the spray waxes look comprable to the FK1 425 and Hot Rod (which I hear look incredible and are very slick).

thanks

The new OCW will be out in the next week or so (they've been waiting on new labels) and IMO, it is definitely better than AW; slicker, more durable and looks better.

woo hoo, been waitin...Thanks for the heads up Scott! :heelclick :spot

AW and OCW are an apples to apples product comparison of sorts (Sealant vs Nuba - both spray).. and IMO AW wins.

AW and SC SDemon is not an accurate product comparison.. AW is a spray sealant SC SD is a QD with hopped up on nuba..warm glow.. SC SD Detailer is a GREAT product if you are not needing bulk rates - free shipping does help out a lot..

Gawd I hope so Scott! I dont really see what the big deal is about AW anyway?!? And why does everyone think AW is a sealant? The label says one thing but the DG folks say another. It has Nuba content folks......Just like OCW does...

The SC Speed Demon is among one of the best QD's I have ever used.

And SC Hot Rod is a very "warm" looking, as well as slick QD/Spray detailer/Spray Wax.

I don't either. Looks good but didn't blow me away like I was expecting it too after reading about it here. Seems more like an amped up QD like Z8 is.

I think OCW was not anything special at all and offer next to no durability, and the look was ok .I'm waiting on the new version.

Best results are attained if used after every/every other wash. Ive really never had it last more then a couple/few weeks, unless using it via this recommendation.

Just tried the SCG Speed Demon and it looks nice. I had to find a reason to use my new Eurow MF. When I told a friend of mine that it smelled sort of like cinnamon/spice he told me that some of the Mother's products smell like that? Has anyone used both and if so, is the Speed Demon worth the price difference?

He must be referring to the Showtime QD which has a very light cinnamon scent to it. The SD is light years ahead of it though.......but the Mothers price is hard to beat.

Having used AW and OCW, I say OCW is the winner. To *me* AW is a QD on steriods, like others mentioned, while OCW is a true spray wax.

AW is slicker right off the bat and easier to use (I'm talking old OCW, btw), but for me it never really did much in the way of durability. In my (admittedly limited) use of OCW, it will provide at least 4+ weeks (in crappy Buffalo winters, mind you), after that I topped it with something else. OCW did more noticably enhance the look (warm 'nuba looking), while all AW did IMO was amp up the shine a *bit*.

And BTW, that Surf City Hot Rod Detailer (not the Speed Demon) is a first rate QD, adds noticably to the look as soon as you apply it and is slick as snot. Easy to use, too. :bigups

So you've tried both Speed Demon & Hot Rod Detailer?

I was thinking SD is best sounds best suited for nubas and HRD for sealants but I haven't tried either yet.
