Aquapel results and questions

Aquapel is one of the only products that I've read about in these forums that everyone seems to agree is outstanding.

I finally gave it a try last week and it finally rained this morning on my way to work. What I found was that at slow driving speeds (under 40mph) I didn't really NEED my wipers but driving with them was much better than without as droplets did stick and accumulate on the glass. However at speeds above 40 the water did tend to wisk up and off the windshield, so the wipers were needed less at faster travel speeds.

I'm wondering if I possibly cleaned too much of it off after the application and maybe would have gotten more impressive results. (After application and paper towel buffing I kept finding areas that still had visible product that didn't buff away. I finally started using a microfiber cloth and Surf City Glass cleaner to remove the excess. Was this a mistake??? Also, it says to use a paper towel, is that really best?

Can I layer Aquapel?

Thanks

I put Carlack Glass Sealant on my MX-5 and found it to be outstanding. Very easy to use and quite easy to buff as well. The water beading is great and it surely is impressive to drive at highway speeds and just see all the water flying out of the windshield.

To answer you questions.

You should be able to clean your glass with any non-ammonia based automotive glass cleaner (Surf City, Stoner's IG, ect.) without issue. You can also re-apply (layer as you call it) Aquapel if needed, but I would see it as a waste because Aquapel is tailored to be used with a one-time applicator. If you need to re-apply then you might as well just start from scratch to ensure a good bonding.
