APC Dwell Time??

I use a heavy based citrus cleaner.....I mix in it various ratios depending on what I am doing...the other day I was cleaning up my Weber BBQ...Mine is on a stainless steel cart...the metal and all around was full of BBQ sauce, oil from drips and built up BBQ crap...I sprayed on my heavier ratio APC 50/50 and let it dwell for about 5 minutes and everything that was on came off instantly..even the heavy built up stuff.

My question to you is what are your dwell times??...I know a lot of us are in a hurry at times and just spray on and wipe and then think " this stuff isn't strong enough or working"

I have since while working on cars where it is applicable spray on and let set for a period of time before wiping...seems to get things much cleaner.

Good point!
I'm definitely one that probably tries to rush things. I usually just spray it on and wipe it off. Giving the chemical a chance to do its job would seem like a better way to do it. I even use a foaming sprayer and still don't give it much time.

This was results by accident that got me thinking about this...When I did the BBQ I had something else come up once I had sprayed the APC on when I came back 5 minutes later it was so easy to take all the stuff off...in the past when I cleaned this BBQ I had to respray some areas again because I wasn't letting the APC work the area

What APC are you using? My BBQ needs a good cleaning!!

This was not so much about a product / APC but more about letting the APC sit in place before removing it...the dwell time is what lets the APC do its work....for the record I use a heavy based citrus cleaner from a local supplier

Definelty an excellent point. I find letting a product sit, such as a degreaser, the longer (before it dries) the better. It gives it a chance to really work.

However what I have found best on my grill (also a Weber) is to crank up the heat, keep the cover closed and let it burn itself off, much like the self cleaning option in a regular oven.

This was mainly the outside of the grill on mine....but on the inside I use the same APC 100%...mines a charcoal grill so the heating up doesn't really work for me...good idea for the gas grills
