Anything better than 303?

I have a black interior and just started using 303. I was hoping that it would make the black stand out a little more. I know it is a matte finish product and I may be crazy but it seems to almost dull the finish. Is there anything that will make the black pop a little more (look blacker)?

Try applying the 303 with a foam brush. Get the entir surface wet. Be sure to use the foam brush to wipe any drips. Let it sit for awhile 15 - 20 minutes. The buff with a dry MF. The surface should have a glow to it. Sometimes a little too much. If so, try buffing with a damp MF.

A damp MF wouldnt take it off? Speaking of, what would I use to get it off if I decide to switch to something else?

OK, if you want a little more shine try Vinylex. I prefer 303 for nearly all applications but I admit for concours prep I will use Vinylex on a few selected components to make them stand out a little better. With both bottles available in my kit, life is good. :)

I damp MF will off some of it. That's kind of th point. If you scrub real hard, you can get most of it off. To remove it entirely, use your favorite vinyl cleaner.

Just FYI, I put a dry black towel across my dash. Right after I've 303ed the dash the reflections in the windshield can be bad. I pulled it off. It was cloudly out. I had left it on overnight. The dry towel had absorbed part of the 303 and the surface looks splotchy. ARRR!! I need to put a little more 303 on those areas.

I like Megs Vinyl & Rubber. Apply it with a MF and buff with a clean MF and it will leave a low gloss shine that pops! Level of shine can be adjusted with additional coats or additional buffing.:up

My vote goes to Vinylex

This is applied and wiped down after 45 minutes (to dash, vinyl, and the leathertte (leather like vinyl.)

303 is one of the best vinyl protectants out! More so if it's exposed to UV.

Another one I just started to use is 1Z cockpit premium. That seems to be more matte than anything I've used so far.

The 303 can be a bit on the glossy side if you do not wipe it off. if you wipe it, it goes a bit darker on black vinyl, but not shiny like Armorall (thank God).

I've used Megs #40, but went to 303 for the UV level of protection without the overpowering smell. #40 does smell like a new car at times, but to me it's too strong.

303 I've been using has been applied to dash vinyl top area (black), all rubber seals/gaskets, engine compartment, even tires!

Kind of all around good product.

Zaino also makes a good vinyl product.

I like #40, and I like the smell; that's why there's chocolate and vanilla, I guess!

Stoner's Trim Shine is also glossier than 303.

Deanski - Zaino makes a nive rubber and vinyl exterior trim protector, Zaino 16. I don't think you would want to use that on the interior.

Z10 leather conditioner can be used on interior vinyl surfaces if you like the leather smell.

I haven't tried 303, but from the reviews, Vinylex is the glossier than 303 but not that blind as heck AA shine.

Just pointing things out and making the clearer Dean :D

I also agree with the Vinylex suggestion. It does leave a shiny surface, but not overly so. It doesn't have a pleasant smell however, but neither does 303.

DOH! Thought it was interior/exterior... My bad!

Oh yea, Vinylex.. Haven't tried that stuff in awhile.. Maybe it's time to play with that again.

I've also used an Automagic product Magic Dressing and Super Dress-It. Along with Pro's S-81 Wipe-On.

Deanski

Here is a picture of a Jetta I detailed this past weekend. I used Zaino Z9 to clean the seats, then applied Z10 Leather conditioner on protect the seats.

I used 303 on the dash and all vinyl pieces on the interior. I applied the 303 with a foam applicator, let it sit about 30 seconds, and buffed it off with a MF towel.

You used a foam applicator? A foam wax applicator r foam bruch? Di you spray directly on the dash and spread it or spray it on the applicator?

I've had success with 303 by both spraying a foam application as well as dipping it in a plastic paint pan I got from the dollar store. Love the glossless look on the dash :up

I use a foam paint brush. I've found the ones with a more open cell structure or rougher texture to work better. The beveled edge is good for getting into tight spots. I like to hold the sprayer very close, probably an inch, from the foam an spray it. That way I don't get the spray everywhere. If it's a large area, I might spray and the wipe and spread the 303 with the foam brush. It take me several sprays to cover a large area.

Twisterspecial,

Nice work! Boy do I know white seats! I just cleaned mine with Z09 and Z10. Came out perfect as usual.

I'm trying the 1Z cockpit premium. More matte and somewhat of a cleaner action to it. Maybe will try the CP and use 303 over it.

303 still seems best for engine compartment dressing on all rubber, plastic parts.

Megs EK used for wheel wells and underside suspension. Makes it look new for a very long time since it's like a floor wax, dries hard!

303 is just a good all around vinyl/plastic/rubber dressing and since it has good UV protection I use it on all rubber seals for the hardtop convertible.
