Anyone use Z over SEC...

Anyone have experience of using SEC followed by Zaino? Does the bonding of Zaino get affected much in terms of durability?

Or if we need to wash after SEC before applying Zaino, or any other polymer sealant for that matter, does the washing negate the benefits of SEC's slickness/gloss/shine by washing away the oils?

If you use SEC, Meguiar's #7, or any glaze type of product, you will need to follow up with dawn to remove the fillers for the Zaino to stick. I know someone tried using Klasse SG on top of Meguiar's #7 and the Sg protected but only for 4 weeks so durability has been affected by the glaze.

So what % benefit of using SEC is left after washing off the oils before applying sealant? ie Is it still worth doing?

The finish will benefit from it because you ar rounding out some swirls to a degree. If you have time go for it. If not and you are satisfied with the finish. Dawn wash and seal.

Maybe a test, do half the hood and dawn wash and post your observations.

I've done this a few times and SEC does improve the final gloss a bit prior to Zaino. Its not a huge diff but it is noticeable. I think its worth doing but if you're not sure, try an experiment with one area using SEC and the other without.
