I am about 70% sure that I'm going to start offering this service, can anyone tell me of their experiences with it?
Does it work as well as it claims?
What it the average time frame that it must stay in the car? I've hear 20 minutes all the way up to 24 hours! That a big discrepancy.
What are you able to charge for the odor removal?
What machine do you use?
Would you recommend your machine or with your experience would you have chosen a different one?
Is there a machine or company I should stay clear of?
Thanks for your help!

YES IT WORKS, IT depends what the output of the unit is and the fan (blower) size is. My units are very high output and will do a home in 8-10 hrs 3500 sq feet. One room can be achieved in 1-2 hrs depending on the contamination. Any auto's I have done require only 15-20 minute times and they are 100% odor free. Please also remember "I am not talking about common odors, we are using them in severe odor conditions with excellent results" In the detailing field you will get incomparable results in just a short time 15 Min's. The profit is great also $100.00 per treatment and people love the fact it also kills mold and mildew. It will kill microorganisms and will kill you if used in large amounts in a confined space. You air out the car and remove the H3 before the customer takes the vehicle. You also for liability reasons want to have some cheep signs made up that state "ozone generator in use" and have them affixed to the vehicle while doing the job.

This will also depend on the odor and the source. If the source of the contamination is not removed "sometimes" the initial ozone treatment must be repeated. Best practice is remove the source to achieve 100% first time results. Example; spilled milk, large quantity, in carpet and padding. If you can remove the carpet and padding and start over it is best, if this is not an option shampoo the affected area and then ozone. Then after the treatment is done use your favorite car fragrance to add a familiar scent.

PM for details and prices of high capacity units, they are portable and not toys. Don't buy a smaller unit you are better to buy bigger just in case you do motor homes and the like down the road. All in they are under $1000.00 bucks and are very rugged and portable (toolbox size)...:inspector::howdy

I have recently started using Ozone.

I worked on a business use / shared car today that smelt very badly of strong, stale cigarette smoke and was making the driver quite sick.

A couple of other operators had tried to remove the smell, by using deodorising sprays and other unknown mixtures. These odours were mixed with the smoke so it was quite disgusting.

To begin with, I cleaned all surfaces with APC (diluted 1 in 10).

I set up my Ozone generator and ran it in the car for 30 minutes (I had the car aircon system running on recirc mode for 5 minutes during this time).

At the end of the 30 minutes, the car was aired for another 30 minutes.

To the new driver's disbelief, the cigarette / deodoriser spray smells were completely 100% gone.

This treatment really works and is extremely effective for odour removal.
