Anyone running Eibach Pro Kit?

What shocks are you running with these and how do you like the springs?

Eibach claims that their Pro Kit springs are made for OE shocks so I am going to use the Pro Kit on stock shocks when SPring time comes.

I am using Eibach Pro's and Tokico non-adjustables...I would not advise using stock shocks/struts, yes you'll be ok for a little while but the decreased spring travel will put alot of wear and tear on shocks...do it right and get springs and shocks/struts.

The setup is great for me lowered 1.5" all around, the way my Mustang should have looked from the factory. Its definitely not slammed, not sure about the amount of drop on a Civic.

I am running the Eibach Pro-System. The Pro-System includes the Pro Kit springs and Sachs (may vary per vehicle) dampers valved to Eibach specs. The ride is stiff, but very well controlled. I paid about $525 for the whole kit from shox.com. You can go to their site and request a list of all of the products they carry for your car, they will usually respond within two or three hours. Their service is awesome and shipping rates are very reasonable for heavy items like springs and shocks/struts.

Oh, and just like Blackcaraddict said, don't use your stock shocks/struts, they won't last very long with the stiffer and lower springs. Your ride will deteriorate very quickly. It is better to shell out a little extra dough now so you don't have to worry about tearing your suspension apart two months down the road when your stock dampers have gone bad.

The only problem is that Koni is the only place making shocks for my car and they are $140 a peice. Your setup sounds really nice Indigo!

2001Civicex, the Eibach Prokit will not lower your car too much at all (1 inch). The reason I got the ProKit is not because of Eibach's claim that they can be used with your stock dampers (which, as the previous posters state, is NEVER a good idea) but because:

1) I don't like the slammed ricey look &

2) a camber kit is not necessary with this small of a drop.

For shocks, I'm using Koni adjustables.

The reason I want them is not cause of their claim either. I want them cause i want improved handeling and good ride comfort. I just like the mild drop for driving purposes.

Even though the Konis are expensive, they are worth every penny. When I do upgrade from the Eibach dampers I will probably get the Konis. Check the link I listed above, they might be a little cheaper there. If you are more concerned with handling than lowering, get the Konis first, then add the springs.

Also, adding a larger/stiffer rear sway bar to a front wheel drive car generally improves handling much more than lowering or running stiffer dampers.

You might also want to check out some Civic performance boards and see what the autocross guys are running.

I just added a nice big Progress rear sway bar with built in tie bar. And I have Ro_Ja front and rear strut braces. I am getting there slowly ;)

That's coo...

Have you looked at what Progress offers for your car spring-wise? I have always thought they were more about performance than asthetics. I wouldn't be surprised if they offered a nifty coilover setup that would be worth saving up for.

I have Eibach Pro Kits fitted to my Passat, also I run Koni shocks.

Everyone I spoke to, said do not run on the OE shocks or if you do, expect them to die very quickly.

Koni's are expensive over here, but it has been worth the outlay.

I run the prokit with stock shocks/struts and remover rubber isolators on my 2001 Mustang GT. They clank and are crap springs but look amazing.

If I were to do it again I would do Coil Overs or a higher quality spring. Looks amazing though

I'm running the Eibach Pro Kit with some Mazdaspeed Protege Tokico Blues struts all around. I'm quite happy with it. Previously I had Racing Beat springs, and the "drop" was non-existant.

I had Eibach prokit springs on my 97 Mustang. I didn't change the rest of the suspension for a few months after I put the springs in and I have to say that I liked it either way. The ride was a lot better after I changed out everything else, but it wasn't too shabby with just the springs changed. It was lower than hell and scraped on everything though. That was the bad part. It looked awesome, but functionality was compromised a little. Not that it mattered when driving on the freeway, but when I tried to pull into a parking lot or a driveway it was interesting. That's one of the resons I haven't dropped the teg yet. I just enjoy that nice ride height too much. No scraping here. I sacrifice in looks a little bit, but I don't have to worry about looking even worse with a chewed up front end or something.
