I am very new in detailing. Choose the above car full of heavy scratches and swirl marks with my 2nd times to work on Makita 9227C rotary buffer. Start from 1,000 to 1500 rpm LC orange pads PB SSR 2.5 with some improve. 2 more passes pretty much with the same result.
Then I stepped up to 1,000 to 1,500 rpm LC yellow pads with Sonux SFX 1 compound polish. With much better result, however, 2 additional passes were needed to remove 90-95% of the marring.
Of course, follow with Sonux green pads SFX 2, PB pwc with LC white pads and Natty to complete the project.
It's still show 5-10% marring.
Is Hyundai's clear coat that hard to remove even with yellow pads and 1200 grit compound? May be the rotary speed need to increas to 2000 range??:nixweiss
