Anyone have experience with DHL shipping?

I am thinking of using DHL to ship from now on since UPS seems to be going higher and higher with rates. Anyone have experience with DHL?

Thanks

In my humble and honest opinion....NO!!!!!!!!!

Though you can spot one out unless your blind....even then you'll see a hue:lmfao

Anyways....No I do not recommend this venture. I have been working in shipping/'Receiving and they are not that helpful and don't believe the commercials. They may have more trucks but not enough drivers:rolling
For Int'l, they are the choice...just dislike calling and waiting to speak to a person!! :ticked

Yes, UPS has increased their rates (in Jan) but for ground they have the market.

Now for FedEx, they do compete and perhaps even better for overnight. In my experience. Just don't like their multiple "companies".

USPS....well your risk.

My .01 (still can't afford the other cent)

I had a big issue last week with UPS on the local end: driver did not complete route and decided to call it quits for that night. UPS heard an earful from me and they told me they reprimanded him. I was waiting the next evening flagging the guy down. Heh heh, when my latest PAC order came the next day it just sorta appeared out of thin air a good half hour earlier. Curiously, no brown trucks in sight around here since . Sometimes the quality of the service is only as good as the type of job the drivers do.

Actually for me, USPS has been quite decent.

My bias is that Fed EX tends to be "best" but I still can't say about DHL, they only delivered one thing to me.

Yeah, it is a toss up between DHL and UPS. Fedex is too far away to be worth my time.

Thanks for the replies so far !

USPS has always come through for me too. With their newish online postage and labels complete with tracking - it works out very well.

Everything overnight still goes Fedex though because of the later pickup.

DHL has never let me down but I rarely use them - only when customer provides a DHL or Airborne shipper's number.

I have had packages shipped through DHL about 10 times and they have all come through just as good as UPS.

With USPS, though they give you a "tracking" number it is not gaurenteed(spell check that..). Remember, they are the US POSTAL service. If they work for you for value and time without a guarentee(how do u spell that) wonderful. Keep what works.

I have heard many stories of lost packages from the USPS, and to get a refund takes as long as rebate! :brick

UPS, FedEx, DHL( :ticked ) are Courier Services.

Sorry to hear what happen Bill D.... :(

I like USPS. The fact that you get free supplies, they come to your door, and not bad rates, its worthwhile to me. However its best if you just look locally and see how they run their operations.

I rencently shipped something through DHL and they really screwed me over. Between being told nothing during transport , then I was told two different delivery dates that were wrong. After waiting for it the second day I called to find out where it was and I was told they would not be delivery it becasue they didn't have the man power and that it was being sent back to the shipper. I had to drive an hour each way to pickup the package all becasue they didn't want to deliver it. When I get to the location , there where 5 guys standing around doing nothing and about 20 trucks in the lot. I then spoke to the manger and he told me that to pay someone to deliver the package he would have lost money so he was just going to send it back. The best part about that is that i paid $450 for shipping becasue it was considered oversized , I ended up being able to fit it the bed of my truck no problem. I say stay away from DHL , I have never had a problem with UPS they shipped my Audi TT seats no problem.

I have been a shipping and traffic manager for many years, and it is only recently that DHL has gotten into promoting a ground service.
I have used their air service in the past without complaint.

If it is price alone, they are only luring people in with a lower cost, it will eventually catch up to UPS & Fedex rates, otherwise it will go the way of that other small package carrier company (RPS- now Fedex ground).
Their ground performance will yet to be seen.

Just my $.02
