Anybody use The Detail Dude's Bulletproof sealant?

One of my customers gave me a sample of his new line of car detail products. He gave me some bulletproof sealant, which is just a synthetic sealant. I used it on my wife's tahoe and its held up for 6 months now. I ended up putting some on my corvette and trans am after a good clay bar and some Menzerna final polish and it looks really nice. Some of my other friends have tried it and have had similar results.. I've used everything from Meguiars to Zaino.. This is the only product I've found that has the durability of zaino without the hassle. I thought I would share my info with you guys and see if anybody else has tried it?

It's amazing how many distributors/owners try sneeking in here to promote their product line. It's obvious when you look at all their posts and they focus on the same thing. ***.

I wish intellectual product creators could come on here to discuss formulations/processes without pushing their product. This would make this place even more interesting.

You're not suggesting that of the OP here, are you? It smelled a bit spammy to me, but I didn't see any of his other posts mention DD.

I was kinda just yelling out loud and not pointing any fingers really, but it's always interesting to see what people's underlying motives are when they post and start threads. Other people usually "call-out" these people way before I ever notice anything.

How amazing would this place be if people representing every company could participate in discussions.

First off, I have nothing invested in the guys products, nor do I sell those types of products. I was sharing some info I had about a product I liked to see if anybody else liked it as well. As far as if its CG's stuff, I don't know.. Why don't you ask him. I view this forum as an excellent place for product and/or detailers info, that when I'm on other car forums I refer people here for car detailing questions. I know a lot of guys on here do some extensive testing and I was looking for info because my intial results were really good. I had no idea I gonna get jumped starting a thread.. BTW, Thanks for all the help..

Welcome to Autopia! Frank, this place gets its share of commercialism. Its almost a natural instinct when someone under, say 100 posts, starts commenting on a product that no one has heard of before. One would assume someone is running a commercial for a product (spammer). Not too many days go by when this doesnt happen.

When you have been here as long as a bunch of us have, you have seen quite a bit, and nothing's new. We know all the tricks.......

I personally was a little suspicious of your post, but I always give the benefit of doubt. If theres inconclusive evidence of commercialism, then so be it.

However, there are moderators who may see my opinion a little differently....

Are we all suppose to use the same products. I like to think new stuff comes out that might be worth a crap. That is why I was looking for some feedback. Whenever I see a product in the store or read about online, I come here for what I like to consider accurate information. The guys on this forum will tell you if its crap or not, or at least give you their honest opinion. If nobody cares, then delete the thread.. I don't care either way, because I have nothing invested in this at all. I thought this was an open forum to discuss products. I guess I was wrong.. Oh, and just because I don't post up a lot doesn't mean I'm not on here reading. This forum is where I learned about the porter cable, polishing, waxes and sealants as well as the differences between them.

Frank, I have talked with Detail Dude, many times and told him to come to this forum and seek out quality detailers to test out his products (I even gave him about 5 names) so he would have a better idea of how they work, but does he do this? No.

He gives out tons of samples to people without doing any "real" testings himself of his own products and then waits for feedback from enthusiasts who do not know how to properly test products. (no offense)

I will keep trying to help him where I can, I can take the horse to water all day long, but I can't make him drink.

Josh

FWIW, I was a bit suspicious about the OP's intentions at first, but I think he started this thread legitimately, based on no prior previous post mentioning anything about this product line and the fact he's been a member since 2006. I hope Frank can understand why some people were a bit weary about the intention of this thread and not take any offense to it.

I can see how you guys would be leary and I guess I never thought that many people would actually come on and try to promote products. I just think of it as an open forum to discuss differrent products. I thought we were all just a bunch of car enthusiasts. I also didn't know that you guys offered to do some testing of his products. The next time I see him, I'll ask him about that. Thanks..

Detail Dude recently bought a sponsorship spot at Club Lexus. So Detail Dude can freely spam his product placement throughout the genreal detailing section. I can tell you that I do NOT have any respect for Detail Dude and his tactic of spamming every detailing thread that has nothing to do with his product line. Detail Dude never adds constructive posts but merely states that his product is better than the rest.....which would be really funny if his products are just re-badged CG products!

Detail Dude's tactics are just a turn off and I won't be buying or trying his products. We should be thankful that Detail Dude cannot pay for sponsorship here and spam us to death like on Club Lexus.

Frank, nobody offered to test anything, he should get on here though and seek out detailers to do testing for him....

Here's the thing, this is one of the largest and best detailing website in the world and there's plenty of enthusiasts on here that would never think pro detailers or vendors owners would get on here and push there products and that's exactly why it happens so much.

For example, (I am not refering to anyone, I'm just making a point)lets say a well known detailer is recieving free products from a well known product line, but nobody knows it except for the two of them..... who do you think that detailer is going to be always promoting and who do you think the enthusiasts are going to listen to more? the product owners? or the highly respected pro detailers? Then they go out and buy it just cause someone says it's a great product.

You get the picture...:bestwish

The one thing about Autopia is that you can discuss any product that is sold by other on-line retailers and people jump in and comment. Try that over on AG - with something they don't sell....

Back on task - I wish success to anybody trying to make a living, whether it's rebadge or not - who cares. Afterall, this is a free market and no one forces you to buy.
