Anybody convert thier garage into a shop?

Working on setting up my garage right now. Good lighting, epoxy floor, A/C, air compressor & pwr washer are a must for me.
 
What kind of security measures do you have for garage operations? My gear isn't overly expensive, but some of you guys have 10x as much equipment and supplies stored.



I try to keep most of my stuff stored in the basement, but that just isn't practical. Suggestions on keeping the garage down when required?
