Any washer fluid that leaves no spots?

I'm just wondering if there is any windshield washer fluid out there that doesn't leave any residue on a clean car. Something that after using it, all you're left with is a clean windshield and clean car with no spots or streaks on the window or paint.



Distilled water could work except it doesn't clean very well. Do 303 tablets plus distilled water cause any residue?



I welcome any suggestions. And preferably, while not leaving residue, it's also not removing wax or damaging rubber seals.

Try ONR diluted to the recommended dilution for clay lube. I'm using it at QD strength and it's doing good. I'm going to try clay lube strength (less ONR) next though to see if it works.
 
I never thought about using ONR as washer fluid, but it makes sense. I use ONR for everything, including as a glass cleaner. I'll have to try it as soon as the blue stuff runs out.

Isn't the P21s booster just to give it extra kick? It was awesome killing bug splatters but did nothing for water spotting.
 
If the spray nozzles are mounted below the hood and you can adjuste the water pressure /nozzle spray so it doesn't squirt the car behind you can clean your wind shield while stationary. Cleaning your wind screen while stationary (eg stop light) will minimise a lot of over spray. Even distilled water will leave white spots as water droplets will catch road dust etc and dry as white spots. A hood mounted sprayer will be a deal breaker for me.



I dont mind waiting till a stop light to clean my wind shield. Its either that or clean the windshield while driving squirt another autopian behind and havind 2 cars that need an emergency wipe at the next rest stop.:D
 
One thing to keep in mind if you evaluate a new washer solution is winter temperatures. If you use ONR with distilled water in Chicago during the winter, I wouldn't expect it to be very effective as solid water does not spray very well.
 
When I wash the windshield as part of an ONR wash, after about 3 washes, I begin getting a film that impairs vision slightly when it rains. This film can only seem to be cleaned with a fair amount of effort and/or with alchol.

Maybe it works for you, not sure I'd use it as washer fluid.



I really like RainX on the windshield (after a really good cleaning) and have wondered what their washer fluid is like?

The rainx washer fluid is good, however, it will leave spots. It leaves something behind and the windshield repels water nicely. I use the orange rainx stuff in the winter.



In the summer, I use a gallon of distilled water w/ 2oz of ONR and 2 oz of DG Rain Repel. It also leaves some spots, though not like normal washer fluid. I wipe my windshield almost daily, so its never an issue.
 
Luckily in California there is no need to fear winters, any summer solution will work fine.



ONR doesn't leave residue? At least while washing if you let it dry on the paint it'll leave spots, I guess I haven't tested QD strength though.



I've used the blue rain-x from walmart before. It actually clogged up the nozzles on one of my cars. I had to shoot it out with compressed air and it looked like a piece of blue plastic. After that I got that stuff out of all my cars. I also don't like how it makes all my car wipers skip, and it definitely leaves blue spots on the car.



Anyone use 303 tablets, or GM optikleen and have success at a spotless clean?
 
I use BMW washer concentrate mix with water, I never noticed anyspots in any of my cars. I have been usin this for 8 years now (its free so why not lol).

I just bought some of the 303 tabs and i'll have the answer for you as soon as the next time i need to fill my reservoir. Looks promising.
 
Thinking about the 303 tablets, I have a feeling they won't work. Adding a blue solid to water, then spraying it on something, the water will eventually evaporate but where could the blue stuff go? It started as a solid, and if you leave the solid out it doesn't evaporate into nothing. So I think it's probably going to end up left behind as a residue. I guess once tested we'll know.



I think more likely a solution that would completely evaporate clean if left uncapped is more likely to be streak and spot free.
 
Ok, I can confirm that 303 tablets leave white spots all over wherever it sits and dries. The perimeter of the wiper line looks like a mess of white water spots. If I don't need cleaning power, I think distilled water may be the best thing to go with still.
 
Yep. The 303 tabs are somewhat foamy and leave a residue. (sorry, I didn't read this thread before you got some.)
