Any tips on Engine detailing?

Well, I began the whole engine detailing process, but it looks like it's gonna be harder than I thought. I first sprayed simple green on everything, scrubbed with a simple green sponge, and then sprayed with hose. I did this several times, and noticed that I just keep finding more grease/dirt filled areas. I decided to whip out the toothbrush and give it a try. But it is still tough. Anyone know a stronger degreaser than simple green that will just completely break down the grease, so it can be hosed off? Or should I use a pressure washer (if it's even safe to use on engines)? I really don't feel like taking my engine components off just to clean, so any tips would be nice (especially for getting in the small areas)

Yup, Eimann Fabrik High Intensity Cleaner, the stuff rocks as all get out!

Seriously though, this stuff does work wonders at grease and break dust removal.
