Any thoughts on zaino on black car?

In the "Guide to Detailing" handbook from Autopia on their section of waxing/sealants they comment regarding dark colors - " Black cars can look a little sterile or silvery in the direct sunlight. And, the mirror-like polymers can collect minor swirls and actually highlight paint flaws." With Black Saphire do you think it's a good idea to go with Zaino or would you recommend standard polish/wax (+/- via Orbital polisher) due to the above concerns with sealant. Which would yield better results?

I have a black f150 with five layers of Z5 and I love the look of the entire truck(hood, roof, bedcover, sides), and the thing is deeper and darker than the day it was picked up from the dealer.

I understand some people feel the top panels are flat but I don't think everyone has had this problem.

I do agree with the statement that it highlights swirls, but as long as you take your time to make the surface as perfect as possible I think you would be very happy with the results.

I use Zaino on one of my black cars. I love the shine and I'm not quite sure what people mean by sterile. If sterile means a smooth appearing car which looks like liquid glass is coating the paint then yes Zaino is sterile. If it means the the finish does not have a yellow hue or appear smudged, then Zaino is sterile. If is means that after each wash with Z7 that the shine improves, yes Zaino is sterile. The only thing I find sterile about Zaino on black is the fact the finish has never looked this good and I'm bored with the fact that I'm no longer seeking the ultra-hi durable gloss I never achieved with carnuba.
By using a combination of Z2 and Z5 I have been able to achieve a deep finish with minor marring being eliminated. Surface prep prior to Z is the key. In terms of spiderwebbing the Z process does nothing. In terms of marring caused by washing the Z5 eliminates completely. :xyxthumbs

Also, part of your decision should depend on how often you are able to apply a fresh coat of protectant. If you go the standard polish/wax route, you'd probably be applying either a mild paint cleanser (like PPCL) or a glaze like IHG followed by a coat of wax every 8-12 weeks. If you go the synthetic polymer route, you'd be able to get away with applying a fresh coat or two every 5-6 months.

If you do not mind glazing and waxing every three months, then I would go the traditional wax route.
