Any simple way to remove glass scratches by hand?? or only machine??

I have my new beater car, a 99 VW Jetta VR6, and whoever had this car before me, did not take very good care of the glass or paint. It seems as though they never changed the wiper blades, and probably used the wiper blades with nothing but dirt and sand on the windshield. It is all scratched up with theses little hairlines and some little deeper scratches.

Are there any hand methods and products which can safely get the marks out??

Are there any safe machine methods of removing these scratches without doing any potential harm to my front windshield???

I prefer hand work probably...

Thanks!

Go to your insurance agencey and get it replaced :)

I don't think a glass polish will remove any of the deep scratches but will certainly help with the clarity of the glass.

I like Zaino Z12.

Don't get your expectations high those. The glass cleaner/polish was designed to remove very very very minor scratches and not like rock pits, or really serious scratching.

If i lived in SC, this would be no problem. NJ does not replace glass for their people, nor do the insurance companies. Basically, everyone here is SOL.
