Hello:

Haven't been here in about 2 years.

I am loving my Pinnacle Sovereign!

Any new and exciting products come out in the last 2 years? lol

pologuy- Optimum released their Hyper Compound and Hyper Polish, non-diminishing abrasive products in a light, spray-type consistency. Also their OptCoat LSP.

Meguiar's has released a new MF-pad based system that's sorta their competing take on the two-step approach.

What's the concensus on the Optimum sprays - do they reign supreme over m105 and m205? Worth the additional cost? Do they require their own specific wool/silk pad? Rotary only or great for the GG6?

As for the MF system from Meguiars, is that the go-to for DA's now?

Definitely a lot better on single stage paints, not even close there. On today's typically hard base coat/clear coat finishes, it depends. I keep both pairs on hand because while the Optimum polishes generally work better for me, sometimes (especially on softer clears), #205 works better than OHP. On other paints, #105 is more aggressive, on others OHP is.

I've used the Meguiars MF system a few times now and so far, it is really good. Does it fully replace the rotary? No, but it does eliminate the need to use one on more cars than just the KB method does.

Scott since you're into the SMAT polishes, have tried UNO yet?

I have with mixed results. Worked great on a silver Cayenne, not so much on a black F-150, had a really hard time wiping off the residue. Wasn't much over 75 and shady.

What kind of pad are you talking about???

You will be pleased with the system, works very well with the D300 compound, also with #105 and Optimum Hyper Compound.

Was that the original UNO or v3?

I tried an experiment - Megs MF 5" pads, PCXP, one was M105/D300 the other was UNO v3. Both worked but the UNO was easier to use, had a creamy texture like D300 but thicker, def not like the runny M105. I never went past speed 5, worked great. If you're like me and sometimes use too much polish, UNO was very forgiving. You really need an air compressor and blow out the pads after each panel.

Waterless wash product usage

Meg's MF polishing system (M105/M205 was 2 yrs old news)

Trim products like Ultima Trim/Tire Guard

Opti-Coat and other durable protection products

Technology companies like CarPro

Correction polishes in general seem to continue to improve (HD Uno is not discussed much on forums outside this one).
