Tinkering using this on a weekly basis on coated leather...
Only on the outer bolster - light seats, RAW jap dye transfer.

It`s PH is even higher than Blitz straight...and I`ve never even used Blitz straight....

DP works great on door panels.
I always tend to follow with a quick spritz of water/rinse wipe.
I don`t use DP often enough to have a bearing on the compass....it`s one of those that I use when the lil ones have been kicking in their carseats too much ;-0

For those really familiar with 1Z/Next Deep Plastic Cleaner, pros/cons / effects in possibly high akaline product on ~coated~ leather

Oh man does that idea make me shudder....leather doesn`t respond well to alkaline products and some of it`s likely to penetrate any coating and then you`d better be ready to neutralize it thoroughly (not just rinse) and *FAST*, "fast" as in "wayback machine". How will you figure out whether it`s penetrated the coating or not? Oh man....(repeat fears).

I hear ya....see Sentence 3 on it`s PH level....
It`s on my radar.

Well, just short of converting to stop wearing RAW jeans and just beige khakis ;-0

Yeah, that`s what got my attention, not having tried the stuff myself :D

Heh heh, I`m uhm....different...on this topic as I basically never wear bluejeans in anything but the Tahoe. Hardly wear `em at all really, in stark contrast to when I lived in Levis 365/year for decades. A gal I`ve known for years just saw me in jeans for the first time ever the other day, really surprised her :D

Indeed. I`ve got Kohs stuff....but from a POV that this will be generally a weekly cleaning, it`s sorta p1ssing $$ in the wind.
And yes, eventually, through natural abrasion, micro-pores, etc will let X product make it through the coating.

APC does get off the transfer but not all of it.

OT, but when we look at cleaning products, how often does one consider PH. I feel like possibly dedicated so called ~leather cleaners on the marker~ may be just as strong, as the intent is for the user to be effectively cleaning said product. If it did not clean, said product would not be a good product seller.

Us detailing nutz, on the other hand, take this cleaning into the pretext of what is the PH of leather, and what is the PH of XYZ that we are using, and the general detriments that goes along with that.

I`ve used Deep plastic on leather but very sparingly, only for ruined old leather that has no recourse. I usually keep it to door trim plastics and other hard plastics. It can even stain the satin coated looking trims if not removed over time.

I tend to stick with steam and optimum power clean. I do use plenty of 1z products, though.

I`ve got the Hill Injection. Bought it for the car.
Use it more for the household than the cars.

I only really use it maybe once a year to do the jambs and sills.
The temp output technically by the time it hits the medium - I dunno, let`s say 130-160F.
I can`t recall the exact reasoning why I don`t like it on the interiors. I just recall it did something weird on plastic when I was well within tolerances and since then I stopped using it for interiors.

It`s been years since I`ve put any conditioner on leather. And to this day, leather IMO seems fine without it...
MY POV is that whatever I am putting is either only getting absorbed through the stitching, and the .0003 percent that it micro-macro-minutely-potentially is working through the abrasion of wear through the coated leather and whatever can get through, just might.

Prior to that, I was that guy. Pristine Clean, Rejuvator, Judy-LM, etc, etc.

Dang pesky bolster. Got me changing my POV on leather treatment and I might think about conditioning again
