any clue ??

Ronkh

Wax Waster
Anybody have a clue as to what this is?

It appears like the dealer had a sticker on the car or something. It is a perfect circle.

I used a rectangular pad when I did the sealant, so it ain't my mark.

wonder what polish i'm gonna need

If it was a sticker that had been there for a while, it would most likely look better than the rest of the car because that area wouldn't have been exposed to the elements. The only way it could be reversed like that is if the paint was corrected around the sticker at some point. All of that is assuming that I'm seeing what I think I am.

I'm thinking different. I'm thinking it was parked somewhere for a long time, where the sun came in a round window and faded the CC only in one spot. Hard to tell by the pic though.

I'm going to go with a magnet was placed there by the dealer and left on during inclimate weather for a bit. I have seen similar markings left by magnets on vehicles where the owner slaps the magnetic signs on the door and than rarely remove them. It seems to happen when moisture get's behind them and than is allowed to dry in the sun. Enough cycles of this wet to dry seems to cloud the paint similar to when those vinyl bras are left on in inclimate weather and left to dry on the vehicle..

I'm thinking a clear sticker/decal of some sort.... It actually looks a little faded there.

Weirder still, it's only visible at certain angles

Guess I gotta try and polish it out again.

Looks like a big rotary burn..... Kinda strange perfect circle... But not saying I've ever almost burnt something with a rotary, but if you stop right before you go all the way through thats what it looks like. Only visible from some angles. I'm probably wrong because of the shape but that my 2 cents

ohhhh I hope not

It's from the where the shipping company put on when it left the factory and/or the factory put it on for inventory purposes. I have a few numbers on my driver window that I can see when there is dew outside during the night. I will try to buff it out if possible.

I'm going with some sort of magnet. I have seen something similar to this before on the forums. The way they got rid of it was to turn a lamp or use some sort of heat to try and get the moisture out. Hope this helps!

^^^ If that's the case you should be able to CAREFULLY go at a small spot with a heat gun and see an improvement pretty quick. Ron, you gotta heat gun?
