Any Advatage to NXT

I'm starting to like this detailing bug I"ve picked up.

The results I got from using AIO with P21S top coating of wax was great. But I'm wondering with all this talk of NXT, would I notice a difference by switching my AIO step with this new product. My 2000 Ford f-150 is Cardinal Red.

You might, and you might not. The problem with most of the boutique products is that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder." That is, it's pretty subjective. The only way to find out if you like it more is to try it out. That's why so many of us have 12+ kinds of polishes and waxes. :D

I haven't used Klasse but have used the s100 twins (SEPC and concour wax). On my black car, I still prefer s100 over NXT. Its more wet looking and more reflective. One thing i don't like about nxt is it leave some kind of haze that i couldn't get off with buffing or qd. Either way, they are both fine products that will give you good result. I currently have s100 on my vehicle right now but i switch to nxt from time to time whenever i feel like to. I just ordered the souveran kit and I can't wait to try it out.

I agree with 2wheelsx2. I think you gotta try it. Personally, I perfer the "look and feel" of other products over NXT but I'm not disappointed I bought it. It's a good sealant, just not the first bottle I reach for. Let us know your impressions if you do try it.

I still like NXT despite some of the criticism it has received on the board. It is very user friendly (a touch finicky when cooler though...extending drying time helps), looks great to my eye and I have been getting 3 months of durability, maybe even more (I've had it just over 3 months now). I have used it over AIO, VM, PwC and #81 with excellent results. I have also noticed it seems slicker initially when you apply with a PC (finishing pad). By hand, it is a few hours before it gets really slick and by PC, super slick right off the bat.

Skip the NXT. All hype, no results. Their are better products out there. Scottwax is one of the few I've heard of who have had great success with it.

I wouldn't buy it just out of principle. Meguiars hyped it up and then disappointed everyone. NXT is nothing more than a mid-level product (if that).

Bill.

Don't know I thought it worked very well on dark colours especially; Better than most over the counter products.

Then again others may like it or not but I don't think I'll condemn it in the near future.

I have been pleased with the results that I got from my trials and I've seen others on this board show their successes. I'll agree it's not a high end product but it isn't marketed that way.

I don't buy that it "disappointed everyone".

I also find a lot to like about NXT. It goes on thin and easy. It sets fairly quickly and comes off even easier than it goes on. Just a wipe with a MF.

Since I've started using it I've hardly used anything else as it does a stunning job with little effort. It leaves a very slick feeling surface that dirt just doesn't seem to stick to. It yields a deep wet shine like a carnauba. The look is very close to Meg's #26.

I can't really speak to it's longevity yet as I've only had it for about 4 weeks but it still looks like it just went on and feels slick. I typically would have been thinking about redoing my favorite carnauba about now, not because the protection would have been gone but because the stunning look would have started to fade.

I've used them all during the 45 years I've been detailing cars. My favorites come and go but until something better comes along this is my new favorite. IMO, if you are looking for head-turning deep wet shine with very little effort this is a product you're going to want to try. Thank you Meguiar's.

The 'lab sample D' threads from back in January insinuated that the product would be so much more than it is. It's a cleaner wax for joe turtle wax consumer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not condemming anyone for liking and using it. But I wouldn't recommend it just based on how the whole thing went down.

Did a quarter panel on my mobile science project today and I have to say it comes off as easy as dust. I didn't do a real good job of putting it on thin either. I let it dry for about 20 minutes and simply wiped it off. No hazing or anything else negative. I look forward to doing the whole car with just NXT. Next time I will top it with 16 to see how I like that. I don't think it is over hyped at all. $15 bucks for 18oz. of product is not too bad at all in the world of sealant'.

Let's talk about how it holds up after 6 months. Tell me how your car looks. Turtle wax will also look good after you apply it and it's even cheaper than NXT.

JMHO, please don't yell at me.

Bill.

I don't really expect anything to last 6 months without any type of re application. To ask for either of my daily driven, parked in an industrial area during daylight hours, parked outside 24 hours a day cars to have something going on for more than 60 days is just about a miracle.

I say, put anything on your car and lets see how IT does after six months.

If I had recent pics I would show you my car with klasse on it. It's been 8 months since I applied it and my car still looks great. Water is still sheeting some as well.

Again, JMHO. If you like NXT, then great.

Bill.

just as i thought ....YOU NEVER EVEN USED IT !?!?!?

i have....

it rocks...

people DO resist change....

Science rules.....

this reminds me of an audiophile thought line/experience and science id like to share later....probably a new thread...

theyre called trade secrets for a reason....were not just dealing with protection, and you can bet its a strong polymer.....they didnt just pull this rabbit out of a hat...or go to floor wax company and say; geez what can we adapt for car use?

were also dealing with filling/leveling abilities...NXT has it covered too....

Heres where it gets tough....were dealing with optical properties....we might never hear the whole story of what it is that NXT is doing...thats my opinion.....theres science in whats going on here..

How or what does it do so you have extremely detailed clarity, so that every single metal flake on a silver car stands out, thats clarity yet it can make a finish appear darker/deeper? .....they are counter to each other.....ive more thoughts but i wanna gather em.... i like to "mull"....lol
