How's my 2 week old 330i after 6 hours of work? I lurked for hours on this board before doing this... Thanks to all. Here's the order I did...

1. Dawn Wash

2. Claymagic bar

3. GEPC via PC CMA white pad

4. Zaino car wash

5. Z-2 with ZFX X 3 with Z-6 between each coat

6. Layer of S100

7. 303 to seats/dash/wood trim

Quick question: for maintanence is it ok to just replenish the S100 layer every 4-6 weeks or so?

Enjoy!

Looks great!:bow

Did you notice any difference after topping with S100 vs. just Z2?

ie was the paint darker or lighter, more or less reflective, more or less slick in feel, more or less depth, etc.?

Actually I was originally somewhat let down by the S100 at first glance. The paint actually lost some of it's reflectivity. In other words, didn't look as glossy. Also, the zaino felt slicker. However, after taking the car out into the sun, I noticed the paint looked much richer and fuller than it did before the topper. Color was also enhanced. (see last pic, that dark blue hue wasn't as much before the topper. All in all I'd say it's worth it. I probably would say otherwise on a lighter car though. I'm going to do the same process on my brother's silver car and we'll see....

Yes, please post an update whenever you try it on teh silver car. Mine is silver and I have been wondering whether to top or not.

I’ve been playing with P21S, S100, and Souverän over Zaino for awhile now and I’m really pleased with the results. After doing quite a it of experimenting I’ve found that the following seems to give the best results (so far anyway): I use a small square of MF to apply (I don’t like pads as well), apply only a very thin coat and rub lightly until it almost disappears, let it haze completely, then wipe off the residue with a MF towel. No loss of reflectivity and a couple of layers of carnauba really adds depth on my black paint!

Now what happens when you want to put more Zaino on...can you just top the wax?
Zaino will not bond to carnauba! To add layers of Zaino it’s necessary to do a Dawn wash - but this won’t affect the underlying Zaino. However, if you have 4-5 or more layers of Zaino under the carnauba I don’t see any reason to add more Zaino. Without a carnauba topping it will last for at least three months under harsh conditions and much longer in some cases (this is what I’ve been told, not from personal experience), so it seems to me that with a topping of carnauba the Zaino should last until you’re ready to do a “ground up semi-annual or annual detailing.
