This is a customers car from my work. It had some front end work done and the hood, lt. fender, dr. door and roof were repainted. But the rest of the truck was badly oxidized and the pass. fender and door had a poor repaint on them. I told the estimator I could make it look "better". Should have kept my mouth shut. :buffing:

Amazing Restoration work! I know I dread these types, but man is it rewarding when you finish. Looks brand new!

I noticed you did not buff around the pin stripes. I'm still a newbie - is that because the buffing would take the pins tripes off?

It appears that he was going very aggressive, so yes, polishing a simple pinstrip like that with the aggressive polishes he was using, would probably take them off in a jiffy.

Anyways, excellent work. You can really see the difference. Oxidization is a *****, yet rewarding to work with. :hairpull

Yes. As Steve said with the pads and products I was working with, the paint stripes would have been buffed off easily. They were already very thin and spotty in some spots.

ScubaStevo - what is a maximum cutting product that is still safe to use ON pinstripes?

You should never really test out the max on paint stripes. Its always best to run a tape across them to be safe. Im sure Steve will get an answer to ya also.

Thanks! It is rewarding, the hardest part is getting started.

Thanks for all replies guys.

Incredible turnaround! :bow

Vehicles like that are a pain while you are working on them but when you can make a tremendous difference like you did, the satisfaction is high. :)
