Another newbie.... from abroad.

Well, after lurking for a while I decided to register. This site has a lot of knowledge, and I see that detailing is quite a passion among the members :D

In fact, the title of "obsessed detailer" that many of you wear is a serious undestatement.... and it surely shows in the pictures and posts. From the pictures of the wonders that ScottWax makes, to the non marring wash technique by Accumulator and all the tips by the rest of the members in between, I think I have seen the truth ;)

I am graduating from NuFinish, which I must admit did a lot of good for our cars. I have learned that while a decent all in one, it is a no-no in newer paints because of the abbrasives. Yes, it won't last a whole year, but it surely takes a beating before needing another application (4-5 months in our mild weather here with proper care).... I think the rest that I have will go to the wheels

As replacement I have tried the new Turtle Wax platinum ultra gloss (twpug), Eagle One nanowax, Mothers reflections, Mother's California gold original formula carnauba cleaner wax, Mothers natural formula pure carnauba and Meguiars NXT.... All of them realy good choices.

However, I am getting also the pasion to go for more. As I moved from basic to mid products, I plan next step to go advanced: Poorboy's EX-P, poorboys PP and SSRx :p

I am excited to join the community :)

I still have a lot of wax left from all the trials, but we also have a lot of cars to use the wax on:

- 2002 Chevrolet Astra (rebadged Opel) olive green metalic paint in excellent condition (mine)

- 2003 Chrysler town and country minivan navy blue metallic paint in excellent condition (wife's)

- 2005 Fiat Palio sedan Turin red in excellent condition (bother's)

- 2003 Chevrolet "Chevy" (rebadged opel Corsa) white in very good condition (Dad's)

- 2002 VW Jetta navy blue in very good condition (Mom's)

- 2000 Chevrolet Astra (rebadged Opel) silver metallic in very good condition (sister's, formerly mine)

- 1998 Nissan Sentra silver titanium in good condition (formerly mom's, now youngest bro's)

Plus, the cars from relatives (cousins, uncles, bothers' girlfriends, etc) so it is not that much wax left in reality.....

So far I have been using TWPUG in mine (green Astra), mother's carnaubas in wife's minivan and mom's Jetta. Brother's Palio gets NXT or carnaubas, depends on the mood. Silver cars get mothers reflections or nanowax and dad's white corsa gets whatever we are using on the others at that time... it doesn't make a diference (Not waxed white to waxed white yes you can see the difference, but from one wax to the other we can't..... maybe this shows how close the waxes are)
