Another Mr. Clean Magic Eraser question

My 1995 Acura Legend hasn't been detailed in years. Is it okay to lightly use the Magic Eraser this one time if I never have to use it again on my interior? It's filthy, and there are very mixed reviews of the ME. Also, besides shiny plastics, what should I not use it on (door panels, dash, etc. the whole interior is plastic/leather.)? I was confused about that part. Thanks!

I used the mr. clean erasers to do a full detail on my boats vinyl interior, worked like a charm! This was after I used megs heavy duty vinyl cleaner to no avail.

You should be fine using it for an initial cleaning (what I did) just make sure you add some protection to all the areas you used it on as it will strip everything.

I think you'd be okay to use it this time (and any other time you think it might help ya - just don't tell some people, as they might have to tell you you're doing it wrong.) Just like a whole lot of other tools, it has a place.

I very much like mine. Worked on removing some interesting leaf stains and such from the paint on one car. But I would remove the bulk filth with a regular sponge and soapy water first.

As I recall from using it around the house, it can remove the glossy sheen from some hard plastics, but it was easily restored with a bit of polish. I've always found it to work great on stained plastic.

Thank you! I was planning on taking some before/after pics, but I got a little too excited. Thanks to the magic eraser/woolite combo, my drivers seat and armrest are beige again!

ME is only better than fine sanding; and it is great to use when color refinishing is the goal.

Otherwise when the protective original topcoat is erased; it will leave the primary color coat very vulnerable.

A safe cleaning depends on the effective “penetrating, lubricating and suspending power of the cleaner rather than relying on the “mechanical abrasive power of the ME.

With only a detailing horsehair brush and towel it will chemically strip the unwanted dressing down to the original topcoat effectively without any abrasive cleaning.

That include any shine, be it the aged, yellowed and shined silicone protector type.

A customer of mine regretted when used a silicone protector all over including the dashboard that makes it look cheap.

If I can find the pictures I will post it.

thats great for headliner stains. Ive used it on healinders in my old VW and a new 07 lexus I just bought. Ive always had leather interior but im sure it will work well on cloth seats. Just keep a bucket of warm water near by and keep rinsing out the sponge. Make sure you ring out most of the water before your work an area
