And someone hit my car while parked infront of my house... :(

This doesn't look pretty, the picture doesn't make it seem as bad.

The person that hit it also didn't leave a note or anything, so I don't know who did it, although I think it was one of my neighbor's son's friend, because I was parked behind their driveway and I have seen a white car over there a few times.

And of course the timing couldn't be any worse, considering I'm trying to sell it now and I won't get as much for it either.

Just had to vent....

Sorry to hear about the accident. It seems to be happening a lot lately. Why can't people be more responsible for their actions? It's horrible. :(

This happened to the Accord last month too, but I won't go into details.

Good luck with getting it repaired/sold.

Sucks that both your fender and door were touched. I would ask the neighbour about the white car, ask if you can check the guy's car for damage because you have valid reasons to believe he caused the damage. (if his white paint is on your car, then his must be pretty messed up too)

:(

Yeah I know. :(

if it was just paint that would be fine, but it's all dented. You can't see as much though cause it's dirty as hell at the moment.

I think they are going to have to replace the fender just beacuse it crushed all the creases and everything. And then they are going to have to blend everything and repaint quite a bit, which isn't good when you are trying to sell the car cause you can't say it's never been repainted. The thing is, that car is 100% perfect, not a ding or dent or anything, and it's two years old. So needless to say, I'm upset.

I will ask my neighbor and go check out his friends car, I'm sure he has some damage.

I have a feeling it'll be atleast $800-$1000 to fix.

Sorry to hear about your accident which you could have done nothing to prevent it. My Accord got hit in a parking lot in the rear quater panel. A scrap plus a dent. It was $1,110 to fix. The paint was pearl blue metallic. The entire side had to be painted So I know how you feel. I doubt they have to replace the fender.:nixweiss

I hope everything turns out allright.

Man that sucks! Sorry. You had it looking so well, too.

Unfortunately, the best route to take is to get it fixed. Otherwise it will impact the selling value too much.

Be sure you do file a police report saying the car was parked or at least call the insurance company asap so if you do a claim it's reported that way. It will have less impact on your record.

That fender can be hammered back out. The damage seems to be minor and it shouldn't cost more than $800.

I just hope that if it's hammered out, that it looks normal again.

We aren't going through the insurance, unless I find out who hit it and then they go through their insurance.

My deductable is $1000 anyways, so it's pretty pointless.

Any reason why I'd want to call the police? They won't know about it if we don't call, and maybe that's better....

True! I never go through insurance to fix minor damage like that. By the time you pay a deductable, they will raise your premiums and when all is said and done you will have paid more out of your pocket than the cost of the repair.

My wife and I had just gotten married, we just bought a brand-new '01 Civic for her, and a month later someone smashed the car while it was parked on the street in front of the house. Really hard, too--must have been a 10 mph collision. $3,000 worth of damage, and $500 came out of my pocket for the deductable.

Even worse, for some reason my wife doesn't like the car as much now--even though it is a perfect repair--because this happened to it. Could have been much worse though--could have been the Boxster!

Speeding tickets, rocks cracking windshields, and assholes with a hit and run on a parked car. Just the random stuff you can't control. Fix it and try to forget it. Don't let it get to you and start eating away...

If it was infact your neighbor's friend who hit your car, left the scene of the accident, and didn't bother to call you; I would make sure they receive some sort of a citation (hit and run). I know it's not as bad as this, but I have gotten my car keyed on two different occasions and it hurts to say the least.:(

I hope everything works out well!

something like this happened to us one time, back when I had my astro van we parked in a mall parking lot and came out to find that someone parked in an adjacent spot had backed into the front bumper (I was backed into the parking spot) and had shoved the front bumper into the core support (must've really slammed it) but left no info or nothing. Cost $1000 out of pocket (didnt want to report to insurance).

and as for cars getting keyed, try superglue squirted into the locks and ended up running down the side of the paint! :scared
