An M5 and 2 different 105's

They're pretty good towels. However, I'd probably fall in the ranks who prefer Charisma towels over the Egyptian towels. You can find great deals on Charismas on-line on a few different websites. I don't want to sway anyone from the Egyptian towels though. Laters

If you have a Ross or other discount type store near you, check them out. I found regular Charismas and Wamsutta towels which I believe were Supima cotton. The Wamsutta (what a cool word!) towels seemed to be a bit plusher, and were actually cheaper! Worth a try, but remember different colors can be different plushnesses.

This M5 belongs to the gentlemen that owns the Prius I detailed last weekend. Talk about one extreme to the other but that is the type of guy he is. I really like BMW?s especial all things M. So this car was very enjoyable to work on. The car was in pretty good shape for the most part.

After washing and ready for polishing in the morning

My process was Meguiar?s #105 with the Flex 3401 with Lake Country orange and cyan pads. I recently modified my backing plate for the flex so I could use 5.5 inch pads after reading a post here a couple months ago. I then followed 105 up with Menzerna PO85RD on the Makita with Lake Country crimson pads. The 105 followed by PO85RD really is a great combo.

105 finishing down nicely.

I wanted to grab some sun before it was too late. So I backed the M out to check my work.

I recently picked up some Midnight Sun batch #24 and I was looking forward to trying it out. For the most part I am a sealant guy but I wanted to give Midnight Sun a shot. The plan was Wet-Ice over fire but after giving it a thought I figured I would put my own twist on it. As much as I like WD I thought I would go to Duragloss 105 for my base. I have found that the Duragloss 105 tends to darken the paint and I figured it might make for a good look on this blue paint. I hope Captain Jack doesn't ban me for not following the directions and introducing a rogue product in the mix. But I really dont think it made alot of difference after the wax went on any way.

After the D105 cured over night I applied 2 coats of the Midnight Sun in morning. I will say the 2nd coat did increase the gloss. All in all the depth of Midnight Sun was pretty impressive.

Here's the afters.

The owner requested that I only vaccum the interior. He did not want the leather treated or any dressing on the dash or the door panels. So ok. :-?
