Am I using the right tools- Honda Paint?

I plan on working on my sons 2004 Black Honda Civic with a lot of swirls.

After I wash and Clay I will be using Meguiars G110V2 with both Meg105 and then 205. I noticed that someone in this group mentioned that Subaru's had thin paint and they only had to use Meg205. Does anyone know what Honda paint is like?

Thanks

Honda paint is soft. You will want to start with 205 before thinking of jumping to M105. I've never had to use anything that aggresive on an honda paint unless it was a respray of sorts.

Only way to really know what you need will be to do a test spot.

Use the least aggressive pad/product that will accomplish the look your after.

Not a specific answer to your question, but this is really going to be the only way figure out what you need.

I had a 2008 Accord, the paint was soft. I found I could correct even cat scratches with something mild like Menzerna 203 and an orange pad. Try varying the pressure on the buffer - heavy to light.

I've got an '08 Accord, too. I typically use Meg's #205...I'd use the #105 only if absolutely necessary. The clear on these cars is bordering on "fragile". Use caution.

#205 leaves a substantial haze in my S2000's paint. I always need to follow with something like 3M Ultrafina or Menzerna PO85RD on a gray pad to get it perfect.

I've never had to use M105 on the paint, even though it was covered in swirls and RIDS when I got it.
