Aluminum Polishing Step by Step

Beemboy you could not have posted this at any better time! I was just reading your posts in another thread about Zephyr-40 as I have come into contact with a customer with some old C3 Corvette wheels he needs polished. Would you happen to have any other good articles on metal polishing? I have been sifting through threads like crazy as I haven't had to deal with any sort of major rejuvenating of metals at all. TIA

Dave, thanks for being more than helpful. I hope to grab some of the polish and bobs and get crackin on these wheels. Do the bobs work any better than the ball?I already have the ball, but if they work better, I wouldn't mind the extra expense of some bobs. How many and what kind(s) should I get? Thank you once again Dave.

The bobs are fairly hard and take a rotary to get the action with them...I would use the foam ball to start with and see how that works...work in small areas and let the ball dwell on an area...that will generate heat...clean off with some BS and see what that looks like..repeat as needed..polishing metals is a slow process...no matter what happens you will make the rims look better.....the cotton bobs work real well but you have to have the adapter for the bobs, not that expensive but its a cost that you might be able to avoid by starting with the ball...
