Just wondering what you guys use on these surfaces:

Exterior trim

Tires

Interior vinyl

Leather

Glass

carpets/mats - something you spray on, scrub, and vacum off

Exterior trim

- My endless pursuit of a good rubber trim product that soaks in even and look factory new, not greasy. Is there such a thing? I am going to try Meguiars rubber/vinyl cleaner & protectant this friday, I'll let you know. 303 doesn't last and Klasse protectant doesn't soak in at all.

Tires

- Turtle Wax Formula 2001 Tire Gel. I also heard the Meguiars product I have will work well. I'll try it out but so far the TW stuff is awesome. Man, just to think, I haven't dressed my tires since last summer, man.

Interior vinyl

- 303 is awesome here but it smells like socks, major turn off. Going to try on the Meguiars product here as well. Meguiars on three areas, man, if it worked, would that be a dream or what. The key to the interior vinyl is to clean it really really really really well so the protectant soaks into a very dry plastic perfectly even. It makes such a difference.

Leather

- I'm a poor man, only could afford the cloth.

Glass

- I think Eiman Fabrik glass cleaner is the best, never have had any problems whatsoever with it. I bought a gallon this time, I really like it.

Carpets/mats - something you spray on, scrub, and vacum off

I use Eiman Fabrik carpet cleaner, that stuff works really well and you can mix it with alot of water so your not always using a full strenght product where the problem only requires a mild cleaner.

Exterior Trim:

I use a cheap wax I got about a year ago...it works very very good on the rubber trims and plastics...isn't worth a damn on the paint, but shines up the rubbers and plastics real nice. It's called "Z Best Wax".

Tires:

Meguiars High Gloss Formula...I think that's the name...it's the real high gloss Meguiars tire gel...applied with an EO Tire Swipe.

Interior Vinyl:

I have used Meguiars maybe 2 or 3 times...but usually just take a damp MF and wipe down the inside vinyl...stays nice and clean, and in close to 4 years now I haven't had a problem with discoloration from the sun.

Leather:

Again, Meguiars...applied by hand and worked in.

Glass:

Outside glass, I use Stoners Invisible Glass when it really needs cleaned...again, usually a damp MF will take care of my needs here.

Inside glass, I use Plexus on the tinted windows when needing to get them cleaned, works wonderfully! But again, usually just a damp MF for day to day upkeep.

Carpet/Upholstery:

Eiman Fabric Cleaner....haven't needed to really clean for about 2 years.

Exterior Trim: Vinylex or 303, nice look but doesn't last very long

Tires: I like the look of Vinylex, but dont' use it because the durability isn't very good. I'm using EO WET Tire Shine Spray right now.

Interior Vinyl: Vinylex or 303. I like the 303 more, Vinylex is a little shinier and doesn't smell very good. 303 doesn't smell all that great either.

Leather: Zaino Z9 cleaner an Z10 conditioner, smells great and leaves a nice finish on the leather.

Glass: Microfiber towel and water, nothing else, works great. I like to spray water on, wipe with a MF towel, then buff it again with a dry MF towel.

Carpets/Mats: I use a diluted mixture of Meguiar's APC+ and distilled water, scrub a little and wipe or vacuum it.

the Meguiar's rubber & vinyl on tires is good. It leaves the tires a matte, "healthy" black...not plastic looking at all. After two weeks or so and 2-3 rainshowers the tires are back to the "dry" black now. Normal durability I guess.

EO 20/20 for glass is great, woolite for carpet and seats with meguiar's conditioner for leather.

Exterior trim:

Forever Black and Mother’s Back-to-Black

Tires:

3M Tire Dressing

Interior vinyl:

Vinylex and 303 Aerospace Protectant

Leather:

Zymöl Leather Cleaner & Leather Conditioner

Glass:

Zaino Z-12, Stoner’s Invisible Glass, and Eimann Fabrik Clear Vision

Carpets/mats:

Woolite Heavy Traffic and 303 Fabric Guard

Rubber Seals:

BMW Gummi-Pfledge

The problems with Back-to-Black might be caused by using the #40 first.

EXTERIER TRIM- Mothers Preserves TIRES- Eagle One tire dressing INTERIOR VINYL- Murphy oil soap in spray bottle dont like dressings for interior vinyl unless its in bad shape LEATHER-- Meg.Gold Class GLASS-- Spray Away CARPETS MATS--One cup of clear Ammonia to a gallon of water rub briskly with a wet towel and wipe dry smells like hell but cleanes like crazy leaves no dirt catching film also workes on uph.

hmmm...thanks for the heads up. i was using this approach mainly b/c i have faded, chaulky looking plastic/rubber. Figured the #40 would get rid of the chaulk, and the B2B would maintain it....

Suggestion: Scrub the trim with Dawn to get rid of any wax, oils, etc., then put on a layer of Forever Black. Do your routine cleanup with Back-to-Black.

Forever Black is a dye and it needs a wax and oil free surface to penetrate properly, but it does an excellent job.

Exterior trim:

303 with a small dishwash sponge, let penetrate and then wipe off with a dry MF, seems to last a long time

Tires:

Megs HG endurance/TW extreme gel with a small dishwash sponge.

Interior vinyl:

damp MF then 303 once a month with a small dishwash sponge, let penetrate and then wipe off with a dry MF, damp MF weekly.

Leather:

Pass :D

Glass:

damp MF wipe, then dry MF buff.

Rubber Seals:

S100 Gummi Pfledge :xyxthumbs

Exterior trim: EO Protectant Lotion w/ a small sponge, and then buff with a cotton cloth after letting it set.

Tires: Meguiar's Endurance (regular) with the supplied applicator.

Interior: EO Protectant lotion with a cotton cloth

Leather: Can't afford any, got cloth.

Glass: EO 20/20 outside and inside once a month. Water dampened MF every wash.

Oops, my mistake, I meant A100 :o

Its the same company anyway (Bavaria based).
