Alfa Romeo 8C Spider - Is this a joke?

I know, wasn't the 164 the last model being sold in the states? Ok it's rare and looks pretty good, but there are better looking cars(don't really care what Jeremy Clarkson says), that are faster and better in every way..

Have to disagree with you guys on this one...How does a Z4M even compare to this car?? I guess if you're talking 0-60 times, then sure. But the 8C isn't about that; it's arguably one of the most beautiful cars to hit the streets in the US. And with less than 85 (Yes, eighty-five) cars headed to the US, you won't likely be bumping into another 8C on your way to the grocery store (Like a Z4).

The 4.7L is from the Maserati cars, but it was developed by Ferrari and is closely related to the 4.3 in the F430; the motor is pure Ferrari with Alfa heads. The car also won't cost $300k, more like $225k. I know, still very expensive; but when buying this type of car, you're looking at exclusivity, craftsmanship, and all around ability.

It's not the fastest car, but it doesn't have to be, it more than makes up for it in styling, driving feel, cache and exclusivity. And since when is a zero-sixty time of less than 4.5 seconds not ballsy?? This car is packed with tech that no Z4 can touch. Frankly, that's an apples to oranges comparison.

Driving feel? Craftsmanship? Every report about the hardtop says that its underwhelming as a driver. The Spider will most likely be worse. Im also skeptical on the fiat craftsmanship.

None of that matters, tho. This car is a piece of artwork, plain and simple. Justification is not needed if you appreciate it and have the coin.

I think I'd just get an Audi R8 V10 and call it a day. If I was looking for that kind of car.

Ferrari(and Lambo) is very lucky that people don't look at the R8 like they do your average Ferrari. Because if they did, Audi would be beating them down hard.

Or if i really wanted to spend $300k, I'd have a used Carrera GT. The sound that thing makes is like... wow...
The age of the super expensive exotics being the absolute best performers is dead. The Audi R8, Chevy Corvette ZR1 and Nissan GT-R prove this. You no longer need to spend a half-mil to get a car that looks spectacular, has all the technological advancements you can think of, and looks great.
