Do any of you detail airplanes? I know that when you do a boat you usually charge by the foot, but a plane is a little more complex than that. My brother works at a private airport back east and their hangers have Gulfstreams and other high end private planes like that. He says that the detailing company that goes in there can charge upwards of 3 grand to detail a Gulfstream IV. That seems like a lot of money, but then again it is at least a fifteen million dollar aircraft. I was thinking about learning a bit about airplanes and what kind of sensors and things like that which need to be avoided. I would hate to polish over some sensitive area and cause a safety hazard.
Anyway, do any of you detail planes? What kind of training should I look for before I attempt doing something like that? Would a basic college course in avionics do the trick, or is there some other kind of training that I would need to attend? It seems like an interesting market that is most likely not saturated with business offering services. I dunno though... Its an interesting idea that I'd like to sort of look into.
