Air?

Are there any pro's or con's to using a pneumatic DA? The guy at the body shop supply store was trying to sell me one... He said it doesn't vibrate as bad but :nixweiss

ANyone have one?

Air-powered systems are usually not as cost-efficient for the single guy/consumer, I believe. The shops already have prerouted lines and large compressors so it's more logical for them to buy tools that easily snap onto the air lines.

Do they offer anymore buffing power over the PC? I've got a PC and love it but need a little more uumph sometimes... I've got a compressor already but don't konw if I wanna spend the 200$ on a pnuematic DA or on a potentially dangerous rotary...

A cylco has crossed my mind, but I was wondering, does it have more polishing power than the PC?

Any good reccomendations on a brand?

Have you compared your compressor’s output to the DA’s requirement? Many home compressors can keep up with an air sander going full bore continuously.

PC

PC

He's right.....most normal air powered PC types are going to require about 7 HP and 80 gallon tank. We have a few mini (3") polishers and 6HP, 25 gallon is barely enough.

I used an air-powered DA back when I worked in a bodyshop. More powerful than the PC but yeah, it took an commercial compressor setup to run the thing and I found it unwieldy, what with that air hose hooked up to it.

There are a zillion posts on Cyclos so it's well worth searching on. I use my Cyclos a lot more than my PCs and I prefer them for most tasks.
