Air conditioning treatment

What is a good car polish that I can pick up at either pepboys or autozone?

I have 3m Swirl mark remover. I think the autopia webpage lists that as a polish. I haven't tried it on my truck yet so I don't know. How good is it?

I also have a meguires polish from their deep crystal series. How good is it?

Are there any other products that I can pick up locally? I don't want to mail order because I wanna do it this weekend and don't wanna be hit with a 2 day shipping charge or something like that.

Look for automotive paint suppliers in the yellow pages and see what they have available. They should have Meguairs proffessional and more of the 3m stuff.

You have any product names I should look at in either the meguires or 3M lines?

Edit: You also think a automotive paint supplier would have Klasse?

Klasse will be hard to find locally.

As for the meguiars and such click on the Autopia Forum Terms link in the top left... It will list about all the products they make

What you choose to purchase ....well that would depend on what you need done... Search the full name of the products and see what comes up.

Not sure about meguiars, but alot of people on the forum are very happy with 3M Finesse It II. As for klasse, try your local BMW or MB dealer. Quite a few in the USA carry the line.

In my expierence the deep crystal series from Meguiars is total crap. If you must use Meguiars use the Pro Line. I like 3M polishes the best, the Swirl Mark Remover and Finesse-It II Finishing Material are both excellent products.

How do you pronounce Klasse? Is it like Class but with a K sound? [/b]</blockquote>

When do you use Finesse-It II Finishing Material? Before, after, or inplace of 3m's swirl mark remover

I have seen it at PepBoys. Also available for dark cars, I did the wifes Expedition with my New PC this weekend. Oh what fun and what a friggin big ride.

I have been happy with all 3M products.

I also have a big ride to do.

I know that the #7 and #26 is available at most auto parts stores. They will have all the burgendy bottle bad stuff, and sometimes only two bottles from the Mirror line- #7 and #26. I've used that on newer cars and it looks pretty good. Older cars, however, need much more.

Either 3M or Meguiars Mirror Glaze products will give good, consistant results. Usually you can find swirl removers, light polishes and each companies high end waxes at Pep Boys.

Many of us have achieved great results with 3M products such as SMR and Finnesse It 2. You should be able to find those products at NAPA. For some reason, they're never in the front and I have to ask the guys to bring out the bottles from the back. At least they carry them though. Laters

Intel486-

Mail order isn't really all that bad. It depends where you are! I get stuff from CMA usually the next day or 2 at the latest! No additional charge but I guess living just north of them is kinda handy!

I've seen the tan Meguiars products at several auto paint stores. Should be able to get something there.

Ohhhhhhh, just QD'd the Alfa with the Blackfire Qd stuff, mmmmmmm smells yummy!

I'm outta here, better get some lunch!! :D

Intel486,

Glad to see you made it over from the F-150 forum. I believe I am talking to the same person(at least your handle is the same). I recommended Autopia to an Intel486 over on an F-150 forum about a week ago.

3M Swirl remover for dark or light colored cars does a nice job. Better than Meguiar's from my experience. You can buy 3M swirl remover at Pep Boys. Look for part 39009 which is their Swirl remover for dark colored cars. You can apply it by hand, although machine use is even better.

I just finished applying Pinnacle Paint Cleansing Lotion, Klasse AIO, and a coat of Klasse SG to my 2002 Supercrew this weekend. A nice shine. I can't wait to wash again on Friday and start applying the second and third coats of SG. I might even go up to 5 or 6 coats if the weather here stays warm.

I have used the 1Z and I'm very impressed with it. My wifes car started getting a nasty odor coming from the vents last winter so I ordered up the 1Z and hoped for the best. Here it is 9 months later with no returning odor.

At first the stuff doesn't have the best smell to it but that goes away pretty fast. Its not a nasty smell but its just something I didn't care for. My wife never complained about it so it cant be too bad.
