AIO under Zaino

Hi all,

Just completed a swirl removal, that was punctuated with Menzerna FPII.

Typically, I use Klasse AIO underneath Zaino to give a bit of added slickness and clean the paint a bit. As it is now, the paint is ready for topping and no additonal polishing/cleaning is needed.

However, any reservations about using AIO as a base? I usually like the slickness it adds, but I'm not sure if it will matter after a certain amount of Zaino coats. My only misgiving is perhaps losing durability. However, in the past, it has bonded pretty well the the surface.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Wasted step?

I'm not sure if there will be a bonding issue with Menzerna. You would be good with AIO though. Maybe someone else will chime in. Sorry

I have had this expierence with all the products you listed. FIrst time i had polished with Menzerna FPII i went straight to my Zaino coats.without much bonding issues. It did seem to smear the Zaino a little more then just with Zaino and no FPII. About 3 weeks ago i had FPII the car again and this time applied a layer of AIO. After I was done the surface felt so damn nice i didnt want to do anything else to it. But i went ahead and started with my layers of Z for the added protection. I find in my expierence that AIO is a GREAT base for Z. I havent found any bonding issue with the AIO and Z. My suggestion would be to use the AIO under the Z and many other members on here have done. Good Luck!

AIO works awesome under Zaino.

Sorry Matt, but I'm going to have to agree with you on this one. AIO works great as a base for Zaino. AIO is oil-free, therefore, no bonding issues with Zaino.

Why do you think AIO contains no oil or fillers? AIO leaves my paint very slick and glossy. It is leaving something behind on the paint. When I use products that contain no fillers or oils (menzerna) my paint has no slickness, it squeeks when you rub your hand on it.

Sorry but I have to agree as well with Matt and dternst.

I always use it as a base for Zaino. Either Z or SG will look great on top of AIO

I still want to know if anyone has tried SG on top of Z or vicce versa.

Yes, AIO will leave your paint clean and ready for your Z.

I do understand that you could apply it on top of the FPII because Menzerna contains no fillers or oils.

AIO will leave some acrylic protection behind. This is where the slickness is coming from. If it had oils and fillers it would likely fill minor swirls. In my experince, it does not fill anything.

I used Aio two weeks ago on my work truck. It got dark so I didn't have time to top it. I left it that way till the next week-end. When I washed the truck it didn't beed at all. Some of the bugs and road junk was a bit hard to come off as well. I don't think AIO alone will leave a sealer or protection when used by itself. I believe it needs to be topped. AIO is just a cleaner that preps the surface, and it works great for that!

Makes sense.

AIO stands for All-In-One, there is no doubt it leaves a protective layer.

Thanks guys.

Maybe I will wait a day before applying the Zaino, letting whatever protection there may be cure, and allowing whatever solvents there may be evaporate. It's a guessing game for a just a little bit of benefit.

I understand that but IMO its so very little as I saw absolutely no beeding of the water on the surface. Actually I was quite surprised! I thought there would be more protection.
