AIO + NXT on single stage white = teh win! (and other pics)

Detailed this Accord in late September and like other white 6th gen Accords, no clearcoat. :(

The last time I detailed it, I used Meguiars Swirl Free, Vanilla Moose and S100 and it still was in decent shape this time. Good shine and still beading. Owned by a high school girl (one of my customer's daughters), so I don't know how it is cared for.

I used some SFP on the hood to remove some light scratches, then went over the car with Klasse AIO then followed with Meguiars NXT Wax. Seemed to turn out pretty good!

This is the BMW 740iL that I used the Klasse twins on about 6 weeks ago. Paint still looked good, so I topped with NXT.

Nice work Scott! Keep us posted on the NXT durability given your weather patterns.

Also, how abrasive is the swirl free? I see you use it often. Does it remove light swirls or hide them? Isn't it the same as #9? I have used #9 and I think it's kind of lame.

I used American Shine's California Clear Coat (a glaze) and NXT. Seems to give it a nice 3-D look! The paint is a metallic dark grey and looks almost black at an angle. Pretty neat color!

Splichy-SFP has light abrasives, so unless you use an aggressive pad, it will only remove light defects and moderate oxidation. Even with a cutting pad and high speeds, I don't think it would be too strong.

Scott, did you notice any paint transfer (typical of nonclearcoated paint) on your towel while using AIO and NXT?

With AIO, some very light paint transfer but very minimal. The paint looked very good for a single stage paint job on a car driven by a high school girl...especially since I detailed it on October 6th (I thought it was around late September, so I checked and made sure), so it has been 3 1/2 months. What was really suprising was that it was still beading and had decent slickness, nor was there any visible degradation of the color. Got to love living where acid rain and industrial fallout are not a problem!

What really suprised me was that unlike when I detailed the black Porsche, I got no color transfer from using NXT. With the Porsche (which was last detailed in mid August), I did get some black paint transfer but not enough to coat the pad black. I used Meguiars foam hand pads on both (kind of a yellow), so white would have been visible like it barely was with AIO.

Nice work as usual. I can not wait for spring and summer for brighter pictures.

Keep up us posted on the durability of NXT in general and which over the various bases you have tried.

I'm very impressed with the result of your work on light colors, especially white and silver. I't hard to get that wet look because the cars are so naturally reflective. Nice job!
