Well, I purchased my FJ cruiser on Tuesday. I love it. I detailed it friday, didn't have time to take pics so i was gonna after work but it got covered in pollen. Anyway, I go to work today and around 345 I get a call that my BRAND NEW car had just been keyed. So I run out to the parking lot and my jaw dropped. I was thinking maybe some light to moderate scratches. No someone ETCHED some wording into the passenger rear quarter panel. I filed a police report and everything and insurance will cover it. I guess it just makes me so mad because the car has less than 200 miles on it and i've had it less than 4 days. Now im gonna be even more mad because it'll probably take a few days to fix and I won't be getting to drive my new baby.

Dang man! That really sucks! Haters are just ignorant. Why do people have to do that kind of stuff? Do you have any idea who did it, or was it just a random act of stupidity?

is this for real? The 1st scratch looks to extend above the trunk deck over the top of the car.
Looks like a 1995 Buick Park Ave?

he was probably trying to write "I'd Like To Die" but someone else got him first. I know that is one way to go in my world. If I caught someone keying my car they'd wish they had just put a gun to their head and got it over with the old fashioned way...

SHOOT EM HANG EM HIGH!!! Wow what a reflection hope you had the detail on the red car. Guess that sis why when Ive bought a brand new vehicle it stayed in the garage for a couple years getting a few coats a wax applied to it while it sits there.

Rule #1 in life: Never mess with another mans car.

I seriously hope you find the person who did this. I could never understand why someone would have such disrespect for another persons property. I'm sorry this happened to you and I hope it gets fixed up to your standards.

That's the other issue with this kind of thing. Even though you can get it fixed, there is still the issue of being without the vehicle while they fix it and there is a chance it doesn't come out right. I had to have my bumper repainted 3 times before it was to my standards after an accident. Then you have to worry about the new paint being the first to go.

You just can't settle for good enough with this type of thing. I can definately understand you wanting it redone 3 times if it wasn't up to par on the first two tries. After all, he did nothing to cause the damage, so it should be returned to as good or better than the original finish. Hopefully a good painter gets ahold of it and fixes it right the first time.

Oh Man I am so sorry to see this. This is something that ticks me off to no end. There is no reason for anyone to mess with another man's ride. Jealousy is most likely the reason behind it Unless of course you have a Girl mad at you. Anyway sorry to see and glad you have insurance that will take care of it. This is one of the reasons I hate so many people and trust no one.
Freakin Scumbag Lowlife Worthless Pieces of Doo Doo!!!

You guys of course I like.

Oh the repair WILL be unnoticable and I will NOT accept anything but. I've paid too much money for this car for it not to be done right. I am the first person to have one of these in town and will probably one of few. It will look perfect or it will be done over and thats it. There are a couple different people I was thinking of doing it. One is my friends dad. Him and I rebuilt my last car from a total. It looks great but....(always a but) he takes FOREVER to do everything. So my dad knows these guys who do a great job too at a shop here in town and they can get it done right and quick.

As for why it was done? I am pretty sure it was random. The car next to mine (the Buick) had a little bit done too, but not nearly the amount I had. (I don't think i've pissed anyone off! lol) Anyway I am now parking in the very last spot in the parking lot next to the buisest road in town. So if anyone IS screwing with it hopefully someone will see who it is.

I guess one thing I am really mad about is I am itching to get some protection on that paint. I have natty's at home and now im gonna have to wait another 30-90 days before i can apply to that rear quarter after it is resprayed! (OCD setting in!)

Oh man thats really sucks. What a loser to whom did this. Man, If that was me and caught that SOB did that. I will whiped out my rotary use Hyper compound polisher and crank up the sucker to 3500rpm n start buff where the SUN doesnt shine :D

that is sad man, do they have any cameras in the parking lot? Sure would be nice to catch them. I know how you feel having to wait 30 days to seal the new paint, waiting sucks to. good luck hope it turns out perfect as it should with a good body shop.
