After years of use my backing plate on Pc quit on me

I have had the PC for almost 4 years, the backing plate I had on it was from a local distributer and have no idea what brand it was. At this point I figured I mind as we buy a nice new flexible backing plate from CMA which cost about double than the first one I had and then I also purchased the 6 inch counter weight in hopes of reducing vibration. My brother is always complaining that with the bigger pads the machine vibrates too much (good help is so hard to find). I also invested in the new 7.5 inch pads from CMA so they are easily centered, and also 1 6 inch white pad. I have been using the TPL LC pads and have never had a problem but I still figured I would take advantage of the free shipping. I am most anxious to find out if the counterweight is worth the $4. Anyone want to chime in on this.

According to the PC experts, the 6" counterweights DOEs help to reduce vibration. I cannot attest for it, mine already had the 6".
