Have a black BMW. Just finished with Meguiars 105 Ultra Cut. I have Merzerna Super Finish 4500 and Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish. I plan to finish with Black Fire Wet Diamond Paint Protection and wax with Pinnacle Souveran. My questions is....do I use both the Merzerna and the Pinnacle Advanced Finishing or one or the other?

the menzerna and black pad should finish down nicely on your bimmer. just make sure your m/f towels are in good shape as i've done everything to finish to perfection only to scratch it back up at the final stage.

Hello and Welcome to AutopiaForums. After you use M105 I recommend going with the Pinnacle Advanced Polish to finish down from compound using a orange then follow up with a white LC pad using your PC at speed 4-5. From there you be able to finish up using the LSP's you have mention. Just make sure to do a IPA wipe down after M105 before polishing to remove any oils that might be still on it.

Welcome to AF!!!:welcome:

I think what is unique is that you will always find that people get different results given their techniques.

Either Menzerna SF4500 or Pinnacle AFP are going to work great. Do you have Black Sapphire or Jet Black (metal flake or pure black)? What type of BMW? The paint hardness on each (the color or the series) will vary dramatically so your exact route may very.

This is why a test spot will always allow you to dial in the exact process you need to get the results you are after.

I would start with either polish and a white polishing pad (assuming you are using a DA polisher?). The white pad should give you the power to remove the micromarring from M105 as well as create a flawless finish (again with out knowing the polisher you are using).

If this doesn't give you the power to remove M105's micromarring (this could be the case on a Sapphire Black 3 series) then try M105 on a white pad, using a really short working time, then finish with either the Pinnacle or Menzerna.
