Had "Mr KBM" aka "Buffdaddy" in the shop to help train a detailer from Vancouver Washington(Paul), it is always enlightening to talk with Kevin as he is layed back and has "Anti-ego" but having him around with new toys to play with and products plus techniques was a blast.

Putting his money where is his mouth is......................sanding HIS own truck.

Paul utilizing the tried & true for destroying heavy acid rain and other defects, DeWalt rotary and a heavy cutting pad.

After the heavy defects were taken care of(Courtesy of me taking a pad cleaning brush and "Putting in real world scratches" lol) made Paul finish down the soft paint on this Porsche 997.1 Turbo bumper(Jet black of course).

All in all it was fun, and gave Paul a big jump start in his paint correction techniques to utilize in the field. Thanks Kevin as always..................................

Very cool Bob! I hear that KB guy is pretty good.

I just emailed Kevin to get a LHR75 for myself.

Can't wait for the Meguiars NXT advanced training!

Consider me officially jealous... that's awesome!

I really need to reconsider trying to make it out to NXT. Damn busy schedule, anyway.

Thanks Bob for posting this up.

I also appreciate that you let me crash your detailing pad to spend the day mulling over the ins & outs of basic sanding & polishing principles with Paul. I've spoken with him numerous times since our Sunday at Auto Concierge (pretty much every day).

Paul's got the polishing bug REAL bad, and he's realizing that even though he initially felt as though he didn't quite "get it" to the degree he had anticipated... he really did! The knowledge learned is locked away in a detailing memory bank of sorts, and the ATM kicks out knowledge coins when Paul puts his newfound sanding & polishing skills into play.

I'm always happy to offer advice via phone, and he's asking all the right questions, already sanding to eliminate defects, and honing his final-polishing methods. It's going to take a long time to get to the level of someone like you Bob, but I have no doubt he will eventually get there.

As with all craftwork, practice makes perfect. Having a passion to learn is important, as it helps to push you through the difficult learning sessions, but passion without practice or training can lead to some frustrating events, as I'm sure most of us know from experience.

Thanks again!

If I fly down there, will Kevin come by and give me some lessons as well?

NXT is the best BANG for the BUCK. You've got a solid skill-set already, but then, so do quite a few guys heading to the class.

Would love to meet you someday. NXT? SEMA? Disneyland?!

There you go! Thanks Brian.

Any possibility of making it out? We're seemingly in a DEADLOCK at four students on Sunday (with a few still considering). Regardless, we plan to run things as if it was a packed house. Even if it doesn't fill up Sunday, they're will be a bit better student to instructor ratio.

THIS CLASS IS TOUGH TO PULL TOGETHER! Still time to make those flight plans.
