Acura NSX questions!

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you have ever detailed an Acura NSX. I'm detailing a black NSX on Saturday and I was curious to see how hard the clear coat is on these cars. I'm currently using the PC and the Optimum line (HC, OC, and OP) and I was wondering if you think these products will be up to removing most of the defects on the car...

I don't think the car is in too bad of shape, but you never know with people. It will probably be moderately swirled and I just hope that I'll be able to do a decent job with the PC in a decent amount of time...Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated...

Black NSX clear is moderate and easy to work with. I hv found it easy to correct. Beautiful flat black paint with no OP.

Let me know if you have any questions on the interior, exterior or engine (check my gallery for pics).

Ok awesome, How easy is the engine to detail, can I use the normal processes (I'll wet it down, degrease using diluted simple green, pressure clean, and then dress with a tire foam) or is there a better way to do this...I'll check out your gallery too, Thanks! (BTW, what did you mean by no OP?)

OP = Orange Peel.

The engine is pretty easy to detail. If it still has the engine cover with the black fuzz in place, prop it up and try to keep it dry. I never used a pressure washer to clean mine. I also don't like using simple green because I have seen it dull aluminum. You can remove the plastic manifold cover plate and injector covers and clean them separately if you want.

I usually covered up a few electronics, sprayed with my engine cleaner of choice, agitated with a few natural brushes and rinsed with low pressure. If the painted areas are dull, an AIO by hand works well. I always dry the engine with air and start the engine and let it run for a while.

Two things to remember:

Don't drop the hood with the lights flipped open (if it is prior to 2002) and don't push the trunk closed by pushing on the spoiler (push in the center of the deck under the spoiler to close).

Take some before and after pics.

Alrighty, thank you for the awesome tips! I've been using 10:1 simple green, misting it everywhere but aluminum surfaces due to the fact that it has been known to sometimes dull aluminum (I for one have never had a problem) but better safe than sorry!!! I will definately have a click and brag posted after this weekend. I've got the NSX and a extremely fast Notchback that I'll be doing, so make sure to take a look in the Click/Brag section :2thumbs:
