Ace Power Stick

Looks like it has some use, but the design just seems funky, as in you could probably make something like that out of supplies from a Hobby Lobby.

I ordered one and Patrick from Exceldetail shipped it out to me pretty fast. He stands behind the product and since he has not steered me wrong yet, I feel that I will trust him on this one also.

I have yet had a chance to use it yet though so I cannot comment on it. I am going to be helping Thomas (tdekany) with a Corvette on Tuesday so I will use it then and report back.

I heard that they were a POS

Far from a POS...............

Look at any of these posts....

You will be glad you had it for that Vette.......

I couldnt think of an easier more efficient way to do this............

As I mentioned above, I ordered mine from Phil. Like Patrick, he is another outstanding vendor who always tests extensively the products he sells. If they say it is a great tool, I believe them.

Jesse, the point Im trying to illustrate is the work area around the caliper on the Vette. (Same with the Porsches). There int much room at all. So two options. Do the best you can, and move the car, continue cleaning, or remove the wheels. Albeit the Ace is a tad expensive, and its not for everybody. But when the situation arises, one would be happy to have it. Its not everyday we detail cars that have spotless wheels to begin with.

This is just another "tool" to make ones life a little easier, during one of the more laborious tasks while detailing.

These needed ALL the help they could get!

You heard wrong. I purchased one from Patrick at Excel Detail. I love it. Although pricey, it does the job very well. Makes cleaning the hard areas in between the caliper and wheel much easier. It works especially well on those areas that are tight for the EZ Detail brush.

There's a big range of sizes. Is there one that works well for standard size wheels?

Each size has its advantage depending upon the situation. But model #601 I believe is the standard version. (Patrick correct me if I am incorrect).

I just tried mine today, the 602 and I loved it. It definitely cleaned a lot better than the EZ brush. In fact, I did one wheel with the easy brush until it got as clean as it could. I then used the Ace on that same wheel and to my surprise, a heck lot more grime came out. I love this thing. I plan to get the 401 or 501 as well for the tight spots.

Well, theres a couple choices...........If you actually measured your wheel dish, you could probably find one just the perfect size.

This model is made on the sturdiest rod we offer, yet the super-soft fabric strips are thin enough to allow the model to work well in fairly tight spots. This is a great all-around model! (From site)

The next shorter rod size would be the 401, coming in at 2" shorter then the 601.

I have been using one of these along with the Green wheel cleaner(purchased from Adam's) for about a month and love it. No more busted knuckles or missed spots when cleaning the inside of the wheels.

OK, my curiosity got to me and I went over to Patrick's store to check this out. WOW, surprised at the price point. As compared to the EX-Detail brush, there seems to be less for more. I'm not arguing whether the product works or not, just strictly speaking value here. Perhap the owner/manufacturer know the market and what it will bear. While I went looking with an open mind (always looking for the better mousetrap) I was stunned at the price point. And it just looks cheap. I know, perception, but for the purchasing public perception can be reality.

Ive been using the 501 for well over a year now......Its really fun to use. I know the price is a lil steep, Mr Clean, and I totally understand where your coming from, but considering its benefit, I find it well worth it.

I mean, dont get me started on Superdupernaturalcosmic waxes ok.....$50.00 for the Ace PS, and it will probably outlive the car you use it on......More than I can say for a $100.00 jar of............ah hell, dont even get me going.....
