I am seriously thinking about putting z2-pro (zfx'd) on top of my upgp. Will this add protection and looks?

also when applying a glaze (they all have filling properties right?), do you work it in like a polish or just apply it like a wax and let it haze over and then puff off. How exactly do you apply a glaze, I haven't used it at all. Will multiple coats of a glaze (CG EZ Cream) do more for filling and adding depth of shine?

Sorry for the noob questions, I just want to make sure I know what I am doing before I do my wifes car! :) she wont let me spend 9 hours on her taurus ever so I might have to make do with only 3 hours if that.....

thanks for the help! :)

I can answer the Zaino question. The real issue is bonding. Z2p may not bond to UPGP. It likes to stick to freshly polished virgin paint. If you want to use Z2p, I'd start with a bare surface with nothin on it.

Glazes? I'll let someone else answer that one.

I would leave the UPGP by itself. If you are going to top it with Zaino, go for Z8. IMO, UPGP is deeper and more reflective than Z2 and has less of a plastic look, so topping with Z2 will only take away from the look (if it even bonds). Z8 on the other hand works great with UPGP. In terms of a glaze, Danase Wet Glaze will bond with no problems and will add wetness.

thanks :) luster and doc!

I am thinking of doing dwg x1 coat, then z2p (zfx'd) x3 coats then upgp and z8 on my wifes green taurus....is this a good idea?

thanks again :)

I would drop the UPGP, its a bit overkill. Pick one or the other, Zaino or Ultima.

I did uppp and upgp then z-cs, when I get my new order of zaino I am going to do z8 on top of z-cs (its on my silver focus)

its VERY slick, and I love the look, almost like a mirror! maybe its just me :)

Every time I've used a glaze product I work it like a polish and don't let it dry or set up before wiping off what's left. Depending on the product there might not be too much left over but I wipe down the panel to see the luster and shine as soon as I'm done with that section. I apply glazes with a finishing pad and slower speed on my PC. I've also never done more than one pass of glaze although some have oils and filling properties that may work a little more with a second pass. I don't use them (glazes) too much anymore and don't have a lot of experience with them so if someone has a different opinion or experience I'd be curious to hear.

I use glazes rarely. I just make 1 pass on a finishing pad to add some extra pop. Really helps bring out the metallic flake when doing certain cars. I also always top with a wax. I would polish/seal/glaze/wax.

I am most def gonna glaze still not sure if I will do 1 or 2 passes, but on my wifes hunter green (metallic) car it should add some pop to the flake.

I just made the jump to try out the zaino line up. For now today I will wash/re-clay the car (she drove it last night....grrrr :angry ), light cut polish on problem areas, glaze, z-cs

z-cs until my new zaino order gets here....I have z2,z5,z6,z8,zfx....

now another question, can you add zfx to upgp and make it cure faster? has anyone tried this? I know its a liquid, but hey maybe it'll work? :)

I doubt that it would work correctly. You could polycharge Ultima.

Don't ruin you UPGP. Ultima is already polycharged (indicated on the label), that is why durability is so great.
